Ancestral An ancient Forerunner temple mysteriously looms over the sandy dunes below. Description This map is made for intense "in-your-face" battles. The map is relatively small in the amount of area it has but, gets the most out of it. There are many jumps that can be made to cut the distance from one place to another down. This is a symmetrical map. Ancestral is made for slayer, CTF, KOTH, assault, and oddball. It can support a maximum of 10 players. Very nice constructed map here, weapons are very appropriate to this map. It kinda reminds me of guardian. Nice job 9/10
Looks ok to me, layout seems quite fine. Few things I would suggest is interlocking which I know you probally didnt want to hear that, but its true. Would make the gameplay alot smoother. And the lights for each base, I would interlock into the boxes at each base. (Flooring) Keep on Forging.
I think the overall layout is pretty nice. The pit where the shotgun spawns is well forged. I'm also liking the mancannon placement. A good sniper will probably take control of this map, though.
ya the wall infront of the sniper tower is just to make it look forerunnery but it also lets u cross to the other side if you want to. And for the lights I think I will put them in the floor aswell as fix up some more gaps.
I like this map a lot. I played a couple games on this map with my friend (1v1 games) and they were pretty good. I would suggest reworking the spawn system though. Every time one of us died, the other one spawned in plain view of the other, who invariably had the sniper. This lead to quite a bit of spawn-camping. Another issue was spawning facing the wrong direction, such as facing into a wall. This is a small issue, but rather frustrating nonetheless. As far as the fighting being "intense and 'in-your-face,'" I would agree for the most part. Many battles were very fun and unpredictable as we tried to gain control of the sniper spawn. Onto the actual forging. This map is fairly well forged, though it doesn't really use many advanced forging techniques or anything. There are some annoying spots where the interlocking causes weird texture glitches, but thankfully these are few and far between. Honestly, I don't mind that it doesn't have interlocking, the map plays just fine without it. Overall, nice work. 9/10, a good map.
ya I'k still not sure of what to do about the sniper but, I'm goinmg to work on it. I might just cut down the clips it has or something along those lines because thats always been one of the problems of this map.
I have updated the map so download it and tell me what you think. Also I'm still working on a couple aesthetic pieces on the map. I will upload new screenshots soon and I will add in weapon respawn time and amount of spare clips soon.
