DAM you beat me to it. So far, this game hasn't scored lower than a 8, which is great. I'm still looking forward to a video review though.

Go to Metacritic, and GI always has 2nd opinion and this one was a 8.5

Volition really outdone themselves this time, judging by the great reviews, this franchise might be up in the ranks of Halo, GoW, and CoD if it gets enough attention.

Well, reviews are rolling in, and they are all looking great.

    EDIT:
And yes, some IGN reviewers are pretty harsh when it comes to games.

I'd probably call that a pretty fair review. Shocking to me as it is IGN.

All the other reviewers seem to be going on about the destruction mechanics a little to much. IGN seems to find problems in it and to be honest, those are problems I had with the game as well, other then that thing that's bothering me that I just can't put my finger on.

It's getting pretty good reviews, but if I were you guys I wouldn't base your purchase of the game on reviews. You know, reviews are just opinions, right? It's likely that you will not share other's opinions. I'm not saying that you won't, it's just there is a possibility.

    Anyway...

Just try it for yourself if you haven't already. There are two demos on the XBLM. :)

Other Reviewers said the opposite about Voice Acting and Graphics, and IGN wouldn't know innovation if it is written and defined on a giant neon light sign with yellow font and white backround right in front of the office

A quick look at Gameinformer tells me they said the graphics are good because a building looks nice falling down.

Red Faction has the same problem many games have, lets add a shade of [Insert color] into everything. Makes for a very graphically unappealing game.

Making buildings fall down is not innovative. It's just finally been getting to the point of perfection.

Also, innovation does not make a good game. Makes an interesting game but not necessarily a good game.

um guys, an 8.0 is a good score for a third party game, ign is usually honest, and i think it was a good review.

You haven't played the full game my friend, so chill. There are a lot of different environments from what have seen in screenshots. Also, making a game based around physic based destruction is extremely innovative. Name one other game on a CONSOLE with PHYSICS based destruction. Doing something that has never been done before is usually considered as innovative idea. You do know what the word innovate means, right? "to introduce something new"

Other reviewers say things about the graphics too like the explosion effects.

Volition did the impossible, changes the color of the red planet with the sector of Oasis. Buildings are diverse too, looking at Eos which looks like a legit city, Radial, a MP map, looks like a legit fortress, and Warlords looks like a small town.

What games have buildings falling down better than RFG? Mercs is all scripted and even has a lame health bar. What other games have destruction since BFBC?

Innovation is a step towards better games. If it was bad, it wouldn't be used as a example. Hell I'll call halo innovative for console shooters.

I guess many are dissapointed with the review from IGN, not the score, because a UK magazine gave it a 8 as well.

    I am chill.

Sure, it's innovative if you think about as a different genre of game but as a shooter it really isn't. Destruction has been tried in a lot of games recently and adding 'PHYSICS based' does not make it innovative. It makes technologically superior but nothing else.

Also, excluding PC is cheating but if it's the first console game to have this ability gets rid of it's innovation tag and just makes it more technologically advanced.

As a general rule of thumb, nothing is impossible in a game. So, Volition didn't do the impossible. They just looked at what others were doing and improved on it. That's not innovation. That's improving on something.

I don't get what you're trying to prove RFGs innovation. You just out-right said Mercanaries did the same thing to some degree. And once again, RFG just improved on something that was already on the market.

Innovation is not always a step towards better games. Sometimes it is and sometime it isn't. And yes, Halo was innovative. It added a fluid a speedy way to play the game by lowering the amount of games allowed to carry and by getting rid of the health bar and adding a shield system that got rid of moments where you were slowly walking around corners. Halo brought new ideas to FPS games that can be seen in CoD, GoW, Killzone and even Red Faction Guerilla.

The main issue they had with the game was story and voice acting. Not only has anyone experienced these "problems," but most people don't care much at all in the first place. Story can add alot to a game, but if a game has a crappy story, I'm not going to complain, because to be honest, most stories in games suck hard ass.

Also, it's innovative because destruction is actually used to accomplish objectives. In every single game other than RFG destruction is simply eye candy.

You don't know your vocabulary. Innovate means to introduce something new, and introducing a real time, physics based destruction is something new. Since you seem to know everything about innovative ideas, tell me about a game that IS innovative.

Since you actually said something other then 'ZOMG, PHYSICS BASED DESTRUCTION,' I'll commend you on that and say you got me.

Doom is innovative for adding a brand new genre to gaming.
Starcraft is innovative for bringing in the idea that factions need not have any similarities in them.
Half-Life can be considered innovative for bringing in new ways to tell a story by making everything happen in the first person.
Three games that took all of 5 seconds to think of.
