How many people can a oln map handle without starting to lag? I heard like 6-8. Is this true or just if there is a bad connection? I am wondering because I am using an oln canvas and I need to know how many people I should restrict it to, to keep gameplay smooth.
Interlocking, geomerging, item placement, weapons, power ups, all really affect this. If you're going for the least lag try to use the ground level, it is least lag inducing. Try not to make structures using large amount of objects in a small place (3+ story buildings, aesthetic pieces ie; helicopters). Don't use the red and blue lights either, they induce lag big time. Killballs are another no-no, well they're a no-no in general. Items with weird hit boxes like wall slits, fins, or arches (mainly holes or large indentations). These tips should help you into a lag free map.
I mean max out the item limit. I know 16 people can play it is just at how many people does it take for the game to start to lag and become not fun. the map is in the sky box and has 5 simple stories. there is a wall on one side and open on the other. the main floor is made of tin cups.
