Hey folks. You'll know me by my old account, penguinmessiah. I had some trouble logging in so I went ahead and decided to reflect my new gamertag penguinocalypse with a new account.

Anyway, this is my new map, Mobius City. It is inspired by real life road courses like Monaco and Long Beach, where the nature of the track is pretty much determined by the existing features of the road and the surroundings. Anyway, the race takes place in the fictional city of Mobius City on a closed of section of the Ocho Highway. The track features a large section of highway tunnel and a raised section complete with on and off ramps, leading to a technical flat section, and back into the tunnel.

Top View (actually of a slightly older version, missing the viewing tower and some other features).

This one is not quite as nicely forged as my previous map, Fail Sands, due mainly to lack of budget and learning why you don't forge off host the hard way. The quality of racing produced by this map, however, is amongst the best I've found in all of the maps I've raced on. With a lap time of about forty seconds and featuring eleven corners, it is a complicated track that only reveals it's secrets to those willing to put some time on it. This is truly a track that takes time to master and rewards those who do so.

The main feature of the map is obviously the tunnel and the raised section above it. The raised section in general, and the on and off ramps in particular provide perhaps the biggest challenges on this track with huge time to be gained and lost coming up the first ramp after the hairpin, and trying to take the off ramp corner flat (it can be done... sideways!).

As always, I'll provide two versions - one with a regular finish line and one with the old teleporter and grav lift 'gate'. The maps I use and look for are mostly for a small league I run on another forum where the gates are generally not necessary, so look for most of my future maps to come with a gated and ungated version.

Anyway, enough chit chat. Here are the map details and download links :

Lap Length : 702 metres (approx)
Lap Time (mongoose) : 40 seconds (approx)
    Suggested gametype : Racetracks
Suggested number of laps : 10 (seven minute or thereabouts)
Suggested players : 1-8 (the more the merrier!)

    Download Links :

    Mobius City Speed (Ungated)
    Mobius City Special (Gated)

    Enjoy!

    Very nice map!

Loved how you have to be a great driver to be able to drive the course fast, you just can't go full speed the whole time if you want to make it quick around the track. This should be a tourney race track it is perfect for it.

    Thanks for the comments, folks.

I also forgot to thank a few people - toktyn and 360 shockwave deserve the most of it, but everyone else I've raced with in the last few days deserves some appreciation :)
