Tusk TUSK forged by BORG k79 TUSK is my re imagining of my favorite Halo 2 map, IVORY TOWER. There were always interesting encounters on that map because of the way it is separated. I have set it up for all gametypes. The most desired will likely be FFA Slayer, Team Slayer and 1 Bomb with a little K.O.T.H. I started out using the SkyBubble Prep, and then once I realized that I would have nowhere near the material necessary to complete the map within budget, I decided to glitch certain items. This all happened halfway through creating the map so it is not the ultimate remake I was hoping for. In hindsight I should have started the map off by making it an ultimate budget glitched map from the beginning, but it still plays just like the original with a few twists and tweaks. The general consensus is that the map is a lot of fun to play on and really does give you a feeling of nostalgia. I am about to start a new version in the crypt in an attempt to save items on the basement level and the exterior walls. I hope that at the very least TUSK will inspire others to attempt to recreate this map. It is also worth noting that the Secondary lift only appears in symmetrical gametypes. BACK HALLWAYS ACTION SHOTS THERE HE IS!! GET HIM!!! As a reminder: This map is budget glitched and I have reached the object limit including all the items from the main level of Sandbox. So if you do decide to change it up a bit be careful what you delete as it may not count towards the object limit. wow, very nice map. it has nice asethetics, smooth merges, and i can't find anything wrong with it at a glance. for now it's a 5/5, nice job, i'll DL and leave a further deatailed feedback after i forge-through/play a few games. keep forging!
From what I can see, it's an awesome remake. And most of all, it looks very smoothly forged. That right there gives you a A++ from me. I hate walking around and watch my screen "bump, bump, bump" etc.. Once again, great job.
without a doubt best remake of Ivory Tower so far I have played this map millions of times, and I can't get over it but amazing through everything the lifts, the rocket area all amazing thanks for the remake, amazing job 5/5
The rocket area was the only area that i found to be reminiscent of Ivory Tower. We played 4v4 team slayer on this just now, and it played decently enough, but the problem that we all had of it was that it just didnt *feel* like ivory tower. a good map, but unfortunately ivory tower is just a tough map to replicate the feeling of. you did an admirable job, but where it was lacking was definitely in the aspect of it not feeling enclosed.
Hey borg my buddy lol... I remember playtesting this with you like over a month ago and you finally posted it! I loved playing on this map it was alot of fun and it is an amazing remake i'm not going to lie... the forging is superb too I love it =) 5/5!
Why was it built in the sky bubble? That just uses so much stuff and money for the floor alone. Also, I think there are a lot of camping spots; a lot more than the original Ivory Tower. I think you should try to remake these maps: Warlock (Halo 2) Midship (Halo 2) Boarding Action (Halo 1) And maybe even Guardian or the pit from halo 3.
nice u released it lol, i had so much fin playing this map that one screenie kinda looks like me on shotgun side sniper. I really love this map, those door shields on the os ramp is so awesome it saved me so many times. great job on this map.
Ivory Tower was one of my favorite maps from Halo 2. That being said, I feel you captured the essence of that map very well here. It is a completely different setting though, which I kinda like actually, and that makes it feel a lot different. Very nice use of the tin cups on this map to make the different areas actually "feel" different. I don't know about the grav lifts on the teleporters, though I can see why you did it. Everything seemed very smooth. Only found a couple small spots that make you jump up a little when you walk over them. I'll be keeping this one for a long time, as it's definitely the best representation of Ivory Tower out there. Great job, look forward to more from you in the future. Oh, and when you redo it in the crypt, are you gonna try and make it more like an actual remake or a re-imagining again??
This looks incredible ! From what i can see from the pictures it seems to be the best remake I've seen, very well forged and good adaptions to the lift and other problems Just had a forge through, this is amazing, brings back loads of memories aha The only problem I can see is the sword spawn, can you camp behind the shield? It seems to me like you can crouch under it. Also, why is there a BR on the tallest tower? Which you can get onto? Surely that's a bad move, hm. Overall it's a good looking map, well done. 7/10 EDIT: Has anybody noticed that everything starts flashing if you fly away from the map in monitor mode?! I don't know if it's my xbox being a spaz, or just a result of the budget glitch.. R
Im really disappointed by the lift, i have to say that, you couldn't think of anything more creative then a gravlift? also where the rockets are put some shield doors up, very close to the ground, so they don't block anything, To look like water. But the layout is great, and the spawns look very realistic, evreythings smooth and interlocked, it looks like you put a heck of a lot of effort into this. Good job on the flioor to 4 dissapointed lift goers out of 5
You should probably play it then lol becuase when I played it with him while he was creating it the main fighting was going on near the top of the lift where the sniper spawns and there was no camping what so ever, so yeah... although I found a jump that leads to a camping spot i'm going to tell him to see if he cares...
I can see where you are coming from. The fact that you are not enclosed gives the map a different feel to it and also makes throwing grenades a skillful challenge. TUSK is not a true Remake (hence the name change) but more of a Re-imaging. I still feel at home on this map but perhaps that is because I spent so many hours making it.
I dont have the maps yet so i obviously haven't played it, but it does seem very well forged. Also, i saw some people complaining about the gravity lifts, forget about that, if they allow you to get from place to place then that's all that matters.
