Alright, so I'm gonna get rid of my Turtle Beach X1, and I want a really nice headset.

IMPORTANT: My X1 pushes my glasses into my ear, and it hurts a ton. If it pushes my glasses into me, or constricts my head (which is fairly big), I don't want it.

-most important is that it doesn't hurt my head or ears and it fits me fine. My X1 fits nicely on my ears when it's all the way stretched out, but hurts my ears.
-Wired or wireless is fine, as long as if its wireless it's got a decent amount of battery life
-Comfy, obviously. I play for ridiculous stretches of time, and I don't want to have to keep taking it off or readjusting.
-Surround sound, preferably real 5.1, not stereo surround.
-I don't care about LAN abilities or whatnot, I don't really do LANs or play local at all anyway
    -decently well built

    Right now I'm looking at:
    Astro A40 MLG - $250
    Turtle Beach X4 - $200
    Tritton AX Pro - $160

At the moment, the Trittons looks the best for my money, but if it's the same thing as the X1 (glasses hurt D:), then I'm not gonna go for it.

I'd prefer if you've used them or know someone who does. I've heard all are "the best!", I want to know from first hand or people who know what their talking about. And, and if there's some I forgot, just tell me about them.

I have the X3's and don't really like them because of them making me hot and the battery length. My friend has the Astros though, and I love them. They are comfortable and rather light in weight. Also the sound quality is amazing.

As you might have noticed in my show last night I was supporting the x4's. They have been flawless. I had one issue though when I walked away to take a leak during the bryan simon song. That was to be expected though as the headphones need line of sight with the transmitter.

The Astro's are amazing but not that much different in sound quality. I tried them at MLG Meadowlands. Just a bit too pricey cause they are geared toward their LAN abilities.

Hope this helps! BTW thanks for Wednesday night!!!!! Marty O'Donnell FTW!

You'd know once you have anything close to surround sound. You can hear EVERYTHING, it's awesome. It really helps your gameplay. And most importantly, it makes it so the TV doesn't make any noise so I can play late without waking others up.

Indeed. I would go with the more expensive one. The turtle beach might not be as good because the fact that it might come out with another one called X5 to fix the bugs in X4. And the other one would be less of the quality as the 250$ one.

That's why I'm thinking Tritton. The Astros are just too expensive, I think, not worth that tiny slice of extra. If the Tritton hurts my ears, I'll just return it and get the X4, I'd just rather not recharge things. I'm really forgetful.

I've had a chance to use the X4's and they had some very good sound quality, but if I had the money I would still shoot for the Astro's, simply because I think they look better and I enjoy the way you can remove the covers so you can still hear outside the game if need be.

the wireless headset microsoft sells would give you no problems with your glasses. i have it and though wearing it took some getting used to, i've found it to be pretty reliable.

That thing is strictly a headset, and not a sound system as well. Not to mention that it becomes uncomfortable after a while.

From a design aspect, I would expect the X4's to have the best range of motion, which will probably make them more comfortable over a long period of time. I've never worn any of them, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Hey, I'll buy your old Turtle one off you if it's in good nick for whatever it's worth. Can I get a pic?

I've never heard of anyone using their headset for anything other than voice communication.

When you play music down your mic, does it sound good, or like music should? Or does it sound like a regular white noise din that causes you to get muted/booted from your party?

    WOOOO!!!

Seriously, that headset looked pricey Emilio. I see what you're getting at here now, Insane
