This just proves that this map is most likely to be Headlong.. Why? Headlong was a BTB map. Docks are usually near a city or town of some sort. The map much like Blackout won't be aesthetically the same.. thus removing the block of concrete where the water once was and replacing it with something more.. like a dock. Sounds pretty solid to me. If this is true than i thank Bungie greatly! Headlong was one of my favorite maps, and although i hated Midship at times it was a great map in itself too. Let's analayze this a bit Things that are from headlong or hint towards headlong will be in Thiscolor. Extendable bridge could replace the teleporter in the H2 version. Also, 3 actualy building in total.. their were 3 total building in headlong. Thoughts?
This review came along with all of the other maps found in the Mythic map pack (except Sandbox). In those reviews he claimed whether they were remakes or not. No comment was made on this map, therefore it isn't a remake.
Man, I swear I thought I mentioned that (the fact he would have pointed it out if it was a Headlong remake). It's just so obvious I must have forgotten to add it. (He also would've mentioned the HUGE broken bridge. No bridge no remake). I am mad that he didn't mention whether the dingies were placeable scenery objects. Dingie races. ANYONE?
Why does everyone think They are ging to be re-makes? Why can't bungie just make their OWN maps instead of re-making their OLD ones
well theres a lot of rumors going around the internet about them being remakes so that might be why everyone thinks they going to be remakes. Also guys when i said it would be remake right after that i said it might also be a re-imagining or successor of headlong. Similar to the relationship of lockout and guardian.
There doesn't have to be a broken bridge to make a Headlong, and they never said it was an exact replica, and it could be replaced with some sand dunes and hanging boats, or some crashed boats or destroyed buildings that act as ramps or whatever.
And.. Leads to Spiritual Successor. If so it's still an epic map. Sounds amazing. Can't wait til it's out.
Sounds EXACTLY like headlong to me.. just with a few changes.. how can it not be a spiritual successor? i mean look at Guardian.. it's the spiritual successor of Lockout.. does it look anything alike to you? No. This sounds ALMOST EXACTLY like the layout of Headlong.. sounds like a remake or spiritual successor if anything to me.
I thought (or perhaps just hoped) it was Relic too. It had a shore, a ghost.. but alas, the cruelest fates are the ones we create ourselves. Guardian was NOT the spiritual successor to Lockout. It was a cut from a campaign level. It it was even SIMILAR to headlong, the guy who (supposedly) played on it would have seen some semblance of similarity. Not Headlong. I'm not trying to crush anyone's dreams here, but the evidence isn't there. I wish it was Relic, but you have to face the facts, and not get too disappointed.
I don't think so it's designed for big team and is located by new Mombasa. City + island probably not gonna hapen but it could be like a smaller futeristic manhatten. Although one would like to ponder what gaurdians they would use. Falling off an underwater cliff is soooo halo 2. Maybe giant underwater lazerbeems or the central tower could be like a super gaurdian on sandbox. Not saying it's a relic remake but just thinking out loud. And the guy above me is right about gaurdian being a campaign cut off. It's too bad bungie removed some awsome super boss laser along with it too. It had a eye laser you could rip off and use.
Anything they give us will be a breath of fresh air. After a little research, some facts and rumors. Longshore is confirmed to have a ghost because of the Ghost Patrol Achievement (On Longshore, get 3 kills with a Ghost during any ranked or social match). Longshore, along with the other Mythic maps will contain a hidden skull. If every hidden skull is collected the Vidmaster Challenge: Brainpan achievement will be unlocked. Longshore, through leaked information, could possibly be a completely new map, not a remake of the Halo 2 map Relic. The map could be located on a large tropical island. Although, it may be influenced by Relic. - Citadel, the achievement Pull (On Citadel, get a Shotgun Spree during any ranked or social match) can only be unlocked at Citadel. - Heretic is confirmed to have a sword because of the achievement Blades of Fury (On Heretic, get a Sword Spree during any ranked or social match). Covenant Loyalists used the term 'Heretics' to refer to the Covenant Separatists. This could possibly mean that the map could be influenced by the Separatists and/or a remake of the Halo 2 map Colossus. All the rest is pointless speculation.
I'm going to be very clear: Longshore is NOT a remake of Headlong The map might have a similar theme, but that's all that they're likely to have in common.
You see, way before Halo 3 came out Bungie did an interview with Game Informer or some magazine of the sort, i remember it very clearly because i was at the airport leaving my Dad who i hadn't seen since i was about 14.. Bungie said that "Guardian isn't a Lockout remake, but a spiritual successor and plays very similar to Lockout so we hope the fans will like it as much as we do". they've said this in numerous (previous) weekly updates as well.. it's to late for me to dive into the past internet logs but if you'd like i'll find it for you tommorrow. It could very well be a spiritual successor of Headlong.. it sounds like it to me. Also, has the thought occurred to you that Guardian might have been a Multiplayer map before it was a alpha phase campaign level, thus the reason it didnt make it.. Like i said, in the interview they talked much like it was planned out to be multiplayer.. if that is true then it was probably just a last minute idea to import it into the campaign but they ran short on time and cut it. Even if it's not it sounds like a pretty nice map nonetheless.. i suppose i'm just hoping.
LOL. What's up with the ForgeHub fad of calling every map a "spiritual successor"? So hip and oh so trendy, Trent.
'Heresy is a religious opinion held to be contrary, to the Christian Church or that of any church, creed, or religious system.' Anyone against The Covenant's beliefs are Heretics.
We've all gotten offtopic lol, i've even done it myself so for the sake of this thread and no one getting banned or tons of infractions, lets get back on topic based off the knowledge we have on this map, what do you guys think you'll do with it? (I may make an overview (of course imaginative) based on what i think the map will look like to help with this)
