Hi guys since halo 3 forge looks to be the only way to make interesting varients on the existing maps i thought i would give it a go.
Could anyone point me in the right direction on some simple basics and tips to get started with.
I have to say i get pretty frusrated with forge on the whole but im sure like anything with practice i can start to do some of the pretty amazing stuff ive seen on here.
I know this sounds like a pretty noobish post but i like to start at the basic's and work up and im no stranger to halo:lol: Nightwinder 2 cough cough ahem sorry

Look forward to any help offered.
    Thanks for your time

I guess if I can offer some advice, be patient and let ideas hit you. You never know when epic plans will come about.

If you're bored and feel like firing up a forge session, placing random objects in different configurations can eventually lead to pretty sweet maps because it can spawn good ideas.

Being a perfectionist is fun, kind of. It brings a lot of satisfaction to know you made something precisely how you wanted it to be.

    Have fun forging!

defining 'basics' would be nice...if you mean the "basics" of many of us in the forgehub community (not everyone), then check out forging 101. if you need more simple strategies, I've found quite a bit on youtube...:monitor:

MrMurder, add my gt Xylom and send me a message because the quickest, best way to learn forge is 1 on 1.

Thanks for the replys guys thats a great welcome its nice to find another comunity spirit that i had over at Halo mods and halo maps you can check out some of the work i did there.

I know just how it feels to be a perfectionist its probably the one thing about forge that bugs me the most.
The map tools themselves mainly how item placement feels so inconsistant and clumsy but im getting there.
I think bungie should have added some options such as snap to grid, forge glue, null collision to interlock or merge objects and having a counter for map total items along with the buget would help alot in the planning stages although glitchs kinda take care of that.
I guess ive been kinda spoiled working with the 3rd party tools and expecting alittle to much.
