Map Title: Blast Tunnel Stay Out Of The Tunnel Download Map Best for FFA Slayer Description: Blast Tunnel is a map that was originally inspired by the Halo 2 map Terminal. This is the result of my attempt to replicate the threat posed by the train running through Terminal. Although I have no official story tied to this map, I usually think of it as being some sort of pressure valve coming off of a reactor or somesuch, venting a fiery stream at regular intervals. In other words, the central tunnel of this map explodes every 30 seconds. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I'd estimate about 20 hours of tweaking went into this map. This is my first upload, so any changes or improvements you can suggest would be appreciated, although it would be nice to hear that its already perfect.
Overall looks quite good; last screenshot is 1337, and I get where you're coming from with Terminal - that is a great map. Consider adding some interlocking into the main structure of the map to make it look more solid. A great first map!
Your map is fairly good especial for a first post. I normally reject a huge pile of coils right from the start but if you've truly play tested it and its not an issue ill let it slide. I would take your two bridges on the sides of your camo tower and flip them over and sink them into the boxes for a smoother walk. You should also consider a weapons list which realy helps people decide weather to down load your map or not. Again minor things great first post!
This looks like a really good map! I like the Terminal idea. And I like how you put OverSheilds in the bomb room. But one question, how to you get the Rocket Launcher?
There are two ways to get rockets on this map. You can jump from the Camo Tower over to the top of the tunnel with the stairs, or you can spawn up there beside it. I have a brute shot and a spiker in my screenshots because i had random weapons turned on, like fiesta slayer
Nice work! I can't say that this is a bad looking map... I just can't. It is pretty good for a first post and from the looks of things you don't need to improve it much. Also if you want to forge with a partener, just send me a message, my gt is FreelancerIdaho. Also if I played this map I would no doubt try for the Sniper Rifle BR combo, as this will no doubt kill shields and then a quick flip of the weapon and a BR shot to the head. All in all a good team slayer map if the teams would cooperate. Heh heh heh. 5/5 Awesome first post.
This map is in my download queue right now. It seems like a very nice idea. Is there some sort of power weapon or power up in the tunnel?
Its pretty good, especially for a first post. The weapons are placed nicely, and although they tend to be on the power side, since they are symmetrical, its not a problem. The jump from camo to rockets is a bit awkward. I realize that the rockets should be hard to get to but jumps are generally annoying when forced upon someone. Consider changing it to simply a bridge, and move the rockets to the end of that top area. That will expose anyone attempting to get the rockets without forcing them to jump. The fusion coil blast tunnel is cool, though its easy to cause massive casualties by simply setting it off. Plus it causes massive lag. You might instead place dumpsters propelled by mancannons into the tunnel. This keeps the tunnel dangerous but eliminates the possibility of people using it as a weapon. Overall, its a great slayer map, but could also provide great fun if you added KotH playability and placed the hill in the tunnel.
in the pic it shows an overshields in the tunnel this looks like a good map for FFA or team slayer. is the explosion from the coils contained in the tunnel? otherwise, it may be a little more deadlythan a train.
The explosion is contained, though it sets off several propane tanks, which are not. I plan to remove those from v2
