I would really like to have some deathzones in forge. I mean you can use some fusion coils if you really want, but that just gets messy and laggy. I once tried shield doors and soccer balls to make a death pit, but the balls don't seem to be able to kill you.

I really think death zones would be a great addition and shouldn't be too hard to create. They could use an item model similar to respawn zone, or a hill and change the qualitys to..if you enter you die. You be able to change the height and width, and set more than one. It would make floating maps that you don't want to fall off of on foundry possible, along with eliminate many problems with people accidently or purposely breaking out of your maps. I understand it isn't that simple to just implement this feature into the game, especially with the maps already in it, though I do think it would be a great addition ! :)

Imagine how frustrating it would be though if one indistinguishable bit of floor was ok to walk on where as another bit killed you just by designers decision. It would make new maps very frustrating.

Maybe they could indicate the region some how during game play.

yes they would be awsome but for bungie to put that into the game would take o long that they might as well just wait for Halo4 to put them in.

think about it this way, you know the 1.1 patch bungie made to create the new "beat down rule"? well, that took a month or 2 just to figure out the best use for it, then it took another month for them to code it without creating bugs.

simple right? tops 3 months. Wrong

Well, as that may seem simple, that was just beatdowns. First Bungie would have to brainstorm the best way to influence the use of death bariers in forge and spend months of testing. Then after they find the ideal interface they have to code it without making bugs, for something this big that could take awhile. So what where looking at is a possible 2years maybe.

Oh yes, theyd have to be made distinguishable, but I mean my main use would to prevent much of a pruposeful escape from my map. I mean they know they aren't supposed to be outside a giant wall in Foundry with nothing out there, but it so happens they accidently dropped a deploy cover, walked up it, and brute shotted their way up.

Yeah I know its not really an original idea, but I'm new here..and yeah it would take alot of planning, it's just a thought.

It would be great, but the chances against its implementation are about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to .000000000001. :squirrel_sad:

I would definitely like it, but it's very unlikely.

Bungie is really using the same follow-up for H3 as it did in H2.

DLC maps, new playlists, and damage tweaks. Thats it.

Hence why they've already stated that new armor perms won't be happening. Hence why this will likely not hapen.

Soccer balls weren't in the original maps, yet they exist in the new maps. Death zones are a very possible addition to the FORGE PALLET of future maps. Just like shield doors, Kill zones are map elements, thus making a placeable version is still possible. So unfortunately, no death zones on Foundry, but it also means that we still have hope for the future, on an outdoors foundry perhaps?

    deathzones are bad

Sentry turrets are a lot better that would be awsome to be able to place nuetral turrets

Just wait until they actually decide on adding this new stuff. Complaining won't help.

Oh I'm not complaining at all, just mearly stating I think they'd be cool..and yeah sentry turrets would probably be cooler actually. I love bungie and all that they do for the community..forge is already great, but it's nice to talk about what could be improvements.
