I read the book a few years back and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book was far better than the Da Vinci Code in my opinion. So who has read the book or is going to see the movie? Heading off to see it in 3 hours, I will come back to this thread and post a short review / agrevated bagging of the film, also I have read the book. Questions: Ron Howard set this movie after the DaVinci Code, would you expect this to have an effect on the movie? Also their tweaking the anti-matter to make it more physically possible thoughts?
hmm.. just got back from the movie... it was good, the soundtrack was really cool, the twists and turns of the novel were still there, and it didn't put me to sleep in the first 5 minutes like another Dan Brown movie I know Before I go any futher THIS ISN'T REALLY AN ACTION MOVIE!!! Okay what comes below is mostly for the people who have read the book or want some info about the film, for all those who don't just know that it is a thinking movie mixed with action and a couple of supprising twists, an average film, see it at your own desgression okay now for a bit more in-depth Spoiler Okay this is a thinking/listening movie to the highest degree, an example of this for all the book readers is the fact it took 1 hour o get to the first elemental event (Earth), and then the rest all heppened in the second hour. Spoiler One of the major things that made the movie odd to follow was the fluxuations in time, like I said from 6:30-8:00 in this move took a whole hour while the next 4 hours (in the film) all happened within the space of the second hour. For all the book nerds; don't go if you want a Watchmen esque movie, there are some large deviations between the book and the film especially with the Hassassin and the Relationship between the pope and the camerlengo.
I've read all of Dan Brown's books, A&D ersonally being my fav. Trust me, the symbolism theme in this story is an epic coincidence/find/shocker/? lol
The Da Vinci Code has put me off Ron Howard's films for good. And I assume this film is at least 3 hours long because it has Tom Hanks in it. Think about it, what film is Tom Hanks in that is less than two hours long? I've no idea why, but films with him in are longer than the average film. So to sum up, if it's bad it'll be long too. So I'll be sitting there bored for longer than the average bad film.
Toy story...it was like 2 hours...i think... but no, i wont go see this movie....if it was anything like the Da Vinci Code... im going no where near this movie...
I just got back from seeing it, and for those who won't see it because they think itll be like Da Vinci code, its not. It was simply awesome. Idk, I loved it... I also got chills watching the LHC in action lol...
The story of A&D really is very unlike that of The Da Vinci Code... the book was really action packed and interesting and in the end... i don't know if it's the same in the movie, but in the book Spoiler he gets laid
That doesnt happen in the movie. (@ Jelleh) And btw, I went on a tour of Sony pictures last summer. During the tour, we got to go onto the set of A&D, I think it was the set of the fire element scene... Anyway, it was pretty cool.
I read the book and liked it so i hope its better then the da vinci code cause that was a huge waste of my time to see.
So I just got back from it. It was pretty good, and the story was pretty ****ed up, but I liked it a lot. I plan on reading he book, just to identify the differences myself. I do recommend seeing it to all, it was quite worth it.
