Map Title: Hesitation V2 Map Description: Out from ruins once possessed, fallen city, living death. Designed by Blackprinze. 4-10 players. Pictures About Your Map 1. Write a brief, one paragraph "elevator pitch" for the map. Include primary features of the map, weapon load-out, whatever you think will "sell" the map. Nothing I could say could "sell" this map better than actually playing on it. This map caters to AR starts, and in a sense is a very simple map. This map was made for CTF and Assault, with everything else taking a back seat. Weapon Spawn BR-4x (two at each bases) 45 second spawn BR-1x (one in middle) 90 second spawn Carbine-2x (one at each base) 45 second spawn Rocket-1x 180 second spawn Mauler-2x 90 second spawn Needler-1x 120 second spawn Spiker- 2x 30 second spawn SMG-2x 30 second spawn Plasma Rifle-4x 10 second spawn Plasma Pistol-2x 30 second spawn Equipment Spawn Frag Grenades-4x 10 second spawn Frag Grenades- 2x (ones in middle) 45 second spawn Plasma Grenades-4x 30 second spawn Plasma Grenades-4x (two behind each base) 60 second spawn Bubble Shield-2x 120 second spawn Power Drain-2x 120 second spawn Regenerator-1x 120 second spawn Gravity-Lift-1x 120 second spawn OS-1x 180 second spawn 2. Is your map symmetrical or asymmetrical? Symmetrical 3. How many players best suit your map? Can it support players below or above your ideal player count? 4-10 4. Does your map have vehicles? What purpose do the vehicles serve? Can it sustain vehicles? No, but a mongoose is still in consideration, there would be one at each base for quick escapes and for quickly getting to the middle. 5. Does your map have teleporters? What purpose do the teleporters serve? No 6. What standard gametypes (Slayer, CTF, Oddball, King, Assault, VIP, Juggernaut, Territories, Infection) are supported by your map? Which work best? Which gametypes are not supported, or do not work best? CTF and Assault are the primary game-types meant for Hesitation. Slayer and Oddball are also set up and work okay on Hesitation. King, VIP, Juggernaut, and Territories is not set up nor meant for this map. 7. What non-standard gametypes (Swords, SWAT, Rocket Race, gametypes you have made specifically for your map) might you recommend for your map variant? Provide links if possible/applicable. None Playtest Provide links to three films (NOT film clips) in which games are played through to completion on your map. Awesome. I'm so glad you posted this. I have played it many times and it keeps getting better. I liked MultiFlag, but Neutral Bomb really shines on this map. I have played a lot of Atlas submissions and this map is in my top 3 favorites. I really hope this map is accepted. Awesome job man, seriously, awesome.
Hey thanks a lot, means a lot that you like it so much, because I like it a lot too. Neutral Bomb plays so well on this map, and with the latest update made to this map I'm itching to test it out.
I'm not quite sure I understand you, you say there is no room for improvement, yet you also say I should make a Hesitation V3? If this map couldn't get any better what would be the point in making a third version? There is always room for improvement, whether it be Valhalla or The Pit.
Wow, I can't believe this map has received so few responses. You wont find too many maps that are as thoroughly tested as this map. From my experience, I'd say it's more than ready for matchmaking. Seriously, download this map people, you won't regret it.
I really like the style of this map, it's very unique. I remember the layout and attribute it to the name of the map, which I rarely am able to do, it shows it leaves an impression. However, I have three problems. Firstly, I think you should add a path between the top and bottom walkway in between both bases. I haven't actually played on this map yet, but it looks like taking those routes could get repetitive. Secondly, the overshield and rockets are close together. I actually couldn't think of how to move them apart, so might I suggest replacing the overshield for a mauler and bubble shield? It just appears that a player will grab the rockets and overshield and hence be overpowered. You can't use rockets in a bubble shield. Finally, and I'm sorry to say this, you need more interlocking at the bases. Walking around on them is incredibly bumpy. You have shown that you can interlock well, so please do so here. Other than that, good job, 3.5/5
Thanks for pointing out some flaws by the bases, that one totally slipped my mind. About the Overshield and Rocket, I'll see what I can do, from about 10 or so playtest and tweaking of this map it has NEVER been an issue, but I'll see if there is a way to work it better. I will also see what I can do about that Path between paths too, thanks for your feedback.
This looks good, you could add a banshee spawn in the middle and possibly put in a spartan lazer, the pathways look cool, and it has a cool layout, although im mostly only seeing one side of the map. a overview would be awesome. for now 4.5/5, good forging
Dude, I have probably played this a half-dozen times and I didn't even realize this was your map. Boy, don't I feel dumb.... But yes, this is a really good map. Great for objective games. Everything always seemed very well balanced. Good spawn locations. I recommend this one to anyone who is trying to find a great map for some multi-flag.
Please don't move the OS and Rockets if they worked fine in playtests, that was just my opinion from a forge-through. If they work, keep 'em.
