The City V2 MAP: RIGHT HERE True Zombies (recommended): CLICK THE BLUE STUFF Wimp Zombies: YOU GO GIRL! WTF Zombies: OK, SERIOUSLY. WHAT. THE. F&%*. Get ready for an infection experience that will excite, frustrate and arouse you, all at the same time! For those of you who remember Township, this is basically the super-expansionized steroided version of it. This is The City For those who haven't, this map is a large city aimed at testing your survival skills and teamwork. The game starts off with the humans spawning around the center building. You have no teammate waypoints, no radar, and a puny little plasma pistol. Since that obviously won't cut it, you're given 2 minutes to prepare for the impending zombie apocalypse. Scattered throughout the buildings and streets are weapons, which you'll have to scavenge for. Here's a view of some of the streets: An area of importance for scavenging is the ruined building. What was once a thriving cliche'd gun shop in the map is now mere rubble. You'll have to work together to bash in the entrance, to get the goodies inside. LIKE A PINATA =D. I asked the Dirty Jobs guy to do an episode on The City, but he said he wished to keep his brains inside his skull. Once you've got issues of weaponry sorted out, You'll now have to worry about setting up a defense. While The City DOES have less buildings than Township (8 usable buildings vs 9 usable and 3 mini ones, They are: 1. Much bigger in area than Township's and 2. 4 of them have 2 floors. So, no more worries about sharing that Sardine can with 4 buddies. However, these larger buildings also come with more ways to get in. Some entrances will allow you to waltz right in, some require crouching to get through. Some of the 2 story buildings have rooftop entrances too. While we're onthe subject, here's a few looks at the interiors of the buildings. The pictures right above and below are of one building. The pictures right above and below are of another building. So, we've now got enough weapons to supply a small army, and a nice secure building. Now it's time to test out their defenses. While you are wandering around preparing yourself for them, the zombies have spawned way up high in a box, where they can view you scurrying around like ants. After 2 minutes, the previously mentioned zombies get released . They have 90% speed instead of 75%, and have slightly lower resistance, but still retain their shields (which don't recharge). They also have no radar, and their damage is tailored so that if they've been hurt badly, you CAN win a beatdown with them. This is assuming you're playing with True zombies. Wimp zombies is an "easier" version of true zombies. You get a pistol to start, and zombies have about 1/4 to 1/3 less health. With WTF zombies, it goes to the other direction. Zombies have about 1/4 to 1/3 MORE health. When the round gets down to the last man standing, they will get (if they aren't immediately spanked by the zombies) a 125% speed boost, and a friendly little waypoint over their head for the zombies to see. This is the portion where the zombies must corner and devour the last man. It's very frightenly, horribly, hilarious. TIME FOR EXTRAS GO GO GO! Video of an example Round: AWESOME! Bl00D F1R3's feature pick Episode 1: The City: AWESOMER! Windows. Use em. Building secured. Guess who's winning? Why not? CHANGES <3 - Most buildings altered slightly for balance/ OLN reduction - Crouch building is now a huge building areawise, with 3 entrances. Hard to defend but you'll have an epic time doing it!. - Roof entrances now force you to crouch after falling to get fully inside. Again, for balance. - Township's storeroom has been revived! - Weapons hidden slightly better - Corner callouts (killball, tin cup, pimp house, storeroom) - All zombies spawn on roofs. All the more reason to stay indoors! To the left is a normal building. to the right is.... Pimp Building. That's about it folks, hope you enjoy. If you find an issue with the map, please let me know about it. I'll leave you now with some shotouts: - Thanks to Bl00D F1R3 for making The City video. - SilverOrange for the pimpbuilding idea - Gypsy for urging me to do the storeroom/weapons idea - Cake for being so god-damn delicious.
Nice! A V2 for one of my favorite infection maps (complete with new epic gametypes ^^) Loved the look and feel of the map before and I'm sure I'll love it the same again. May I suggest that the idea be expanded further, say different sections of Sandbox like the SkyBox or the surface, or combine all sections for more buildings (Although Budget has to be taken into consideration lol). Awesome Map and excellent gametypes. Amazing job Something. 5/5 Edit:Oh...the gametypes aren't new, just new to me lol ^^
2nd post! Great Map love to play with my friends! I'll give you a FeedBack FeedBack: Great gameplay! Love Playing Fatkid and I owned almost every time. Even when I was fat kid! WOrth DLing
I remember playing this with you. Truely amazing map. My friends love it, which is something REALLY hard to accomplish. They hate everything I show them (even featured maps). The frantic search for weapons is hard. And with the lacking waypoint, sticking together gets HARD. I never did make it past 2 minutes remaining, though. Great gameplay, great aesthetics, a very well rounded map.
Never saw the first one, but this looks really awsome. Most infection maps are either unbalanced towards humans or zombies, which is why i like this one so much. It looks like it would require strategy and teamwork to survive. I am currently working on a map similar to this on the groundfloor of sandbox, but im only about 4 buildings into it now. Anyway... One of the best infection maps ive seen yet on sandbox. DL from me.
damn alot of nice work went into this i can tell! i love the whole idea of a city setting and it seems more people are making maps like urban similar to call of duty which is really cool for halo. ill DL
map is very very good! i really enjoy your well thought out entrances, Most infenction maps there are just plain open doorways, in yours you have to jump/crouch or any other way to get in. Good job! and i love the thread, very well written an organized
Ahhh. So it is finally released. I was waiting for this to see what you did to it. Same old city. New cleaning crew. Looks much neater then the old one and not a (if i may quote) "rush job". Glad to see this because the old one was certainly lots of fun. Good luck on getting it featured. You have the support of many people behind you!
Hey something, Fun times in this map. Keep it balanced the way it is. Some may say to make it easier for humans but I like it this way because its more rewarding when you survive. Can you alter some of the building's entrances so we can do that "2 house/door" strategy more often? (The one where we divided into two adjacent houses and helped eachother) Also make more weapons with less clips so no human will be stuck with a plasma pistol and magnum.
This is one of the bester crypt zombie maps out there right now i have lots of fun on this map and this is a great game for parties. If your thinking about having an infection game this would be one of the firstmaps id tell someone to play. Good work i love this map. :]
Did you hide anymore weapons? Our just make everything look neater? Im glad you made the crouch room less easy to survive BTW, I think you should've added a weapon list to the OT
I moved some of the more powerful weapons to sneakier areas. Also putting a weapon list would ruin the fun of discovering what new goodies you have to play with =D. And while the room does have another way in, the increased size allows for more people to comfortably defend it, and therefore reduces the difficulty between really hard and really easy. Assuming you do have 6-10 people in it, though.
Great job, although I'm not really a fan of city maps, or infection maps for that matter. It really does look like it could be a fun map to play on. But what happened to "This is the city" pic???? EDIT: Okay, I watched the bloodfire video, but in the building he camps in, there only appears to be one entrance, doesn't that seem unfair for the zombies? However, I'm sold and I'll definitely download. =)
