Let's get this straight first: This is a remake of Hobo Heights v2 byTrueDarkFusion & TheYavimayan, made without requested permission. So if remakes without permission aren't allowed, I'm incredibly sorry, you can delete or lock this thread - but I thought such extensive mention would make it fair. Sandhobo's Heights If you've never played Hobo's Heights, you should check this out. If you're the zombie, you try to kill the survivors. Not sure which of both is the hobo.. Maybe the zombie is a crazy hobo that wants you off his turf, maybe he's some kind of hobo-hater that wants Hobos out of the alleys. Who knows? ps. the teleporter you can see at the bottom-left has already been removed. A little thingy I forgot when I made these screenies. Boom, and that's it for you, guy. Stats: 16 pallets. Respawn time: 10 seconds Respawn at start: yes Run-time Minimum: 13 Run-time Maximum: 16 15 spawns (including attacker) 15 starting points (including attacker) 1 attacker spawn down 1 attacket start down 14 defender spawns up 14 defender starts up If you fall off the pallets, you will die. If you fall off the Zombieblock, you will eventually die. To fall off the zombieblock you need to jump. Download Sandhobo's Heights! To be played with Hobo Showers Variant P.S.: This map was mainly intended to show people what you can do with the area between the Height Limit of Sandbox, and the death Barrier of Skybox. EDIT: CRAP, just realised this may not count as a minigame, but rather a casual infection map. Just requesting a move. Sorry for this! EDIT EDIT: Apparantly, this is more of a minigame than an infection map. Maybe that move can wait.
I loved Hobo Heights! This looks like a great remake, queued for DL! And I would consider this a minigame, so I do believe it's in the right spot
Very nice map spirit.Wait...you had no permission. You should at least ask them. But it does not matter.I like how you said you put the block at the height limit of Sandbox and the lowre part of the Skybox.Overall I love it and I suggest you make more maps. This is really enjoyable.
It is? I wasn't sure. Well, I guess if that's the case, it probably won't even be moved. Yeah, I know. I hope mentioning them in big letters at the beginning of my post will do. And thanks for the good replies, allthough it's really not quite as impressive as the original hobo heights, which required a lot more time to make and as such is a greater achievement. I just liked their creation to such extent I felt it needed to be remade and brought back to people's attention, besides, sandbox's abilities made it a more aesthetically pleasing variation of their map.
I wouldn't think permission is necessary. You can't copyright a minigame, even if it was popular in a single forge group. This is far from standard infection, so personally I would just keep this thread here and forget the Infection prefix.
As long as the file in your fileshare references the original creators were TrueDarkFusion and TheYavimayan, then you are in the clear. And good job on remaking the classic, I can't believe no one has done it yet.
This has already been done by Mastar. I'm already well understanding of how it works and there is no legitimate difference between this and the original. Otherwise good job on the re-make.
Just updated OP with new link to the download - I decided to take Lone Deity's advice and added TrueDarkFusion and TheYavimayan's names to the description. Thanks for the positive comments, guys.
You couldn't do that (or only with a lot of luck, being right above him) on the v2 I linked in the OP either. I originally thought about using a killball, but then the infected wouldn't be able to see the wooden pallets enough - and I think that the killball's stops the lazer much like any solid object does. Besides, I wanted to put the Skyless Box to good use - much like F2P Sandom does. Thanks for the comment, though
Ooh ill DL this sounds like tons of fun. Its like the jenga of sandbox. EDIT may I suggest a viewing box for the dead victims to watch the survivors?
it looks kinda bland i know it is just a simple concept but it would be more appealing if you added some aesthetics just something little
Well, if I made aesthetics, they'd have to be far away, otherwise you could just stand on 'em and not get killed. I could interlock a red light with the block the infected stands on, and a blue one or two in the sky above the pallets. Heck, I could place some random killballs in the distance, but they look horrible. I could use the Gloomy filter, though. And maybe fix the borders of the block a bit. You shouldn't if you don't want to. But: because this one uses the Skybox deathbarrier - and as such is built on Sandbox. Other than that, I really just liked the entire concept and decided to rebuild it, seeing as it has gotten lost in the pages, and so many people don't even know it exists. Oh, and this one (although it probably look less effort to make) looks better. No nasty teleporters or weapon holders ruining the aesthetics - unless if you like those. I know, it's not a lot. But hey, it's something. EDIT: When you die, you can use the up/down on your D-pad to watch other survivors. Don't think you can watch the enemy, though. Anyway, I'm not planning to adjust the gametype, it's a classic, so you only get your one shot at life. To get shot at.
YES YES YES YES! No teleporters our weapon holder getting in the way of my laser! Thank you! I think it would be cool to make a smiley face in the distance, 2 killballs for eyes and a fin nose with a mouth made out of powerups. The only problem i can think of is that the remnants of the destroyed pallets stay afloat on the grid, letting you use them to jump, making it harder to fall. O.K. Heres the story It was a fine day on the U.H.M.R.F.B. (United hobos magic flying regenerating box.) However our hitchiking friends forgot to pay for the rent for the room that there UHMRFB was flying in, so an evictor came to remove them from the premises. However the hobos didn't want to leave the box, so they cut the tether lose and flew off into space. The evictor didn't give up, He went to an Conviently located nameless Fireworks store next door, and bought all the fire works in stock. He Then started to firing them at the UHMRFB, this is where you come in. You as the evictor have to shoot the UHMRFB before it floats off into orbit.
Yeah, the tele's were really the only thing I hated about the original Hobo's Heights. I just recently noticed that I placed 2 pallets too many. But instead of removing those, I'm going to decrease the run-time minimum of the pallets, so there are a maximum of 4 pallets gone. That makes the rubble of the pallets staying there more fair. Do note, though: on the original version, the pallet rubble often managed to stay between the tele's, still making it less fair. But on the skybubble, the rubble can't fall - I know. I might make a v2 and release it somewhere in June, when I buy new XBL time. Too bad the Mythic Bungie Pro is gone by then
hmmm. looks like it would be a very fun map. ive never played the original but i've heard a lot about it. im gonna give it a DL and after i play ill tell u my opinion on it! i also like how the zombie is in the top of main floor but people are in skybox. thats a great idea and im pretty sure that most people wouldd never think of it
