First off for those of you who haven't seen the news on bungie.net, the public beta for the Render-to-Video service is now up, and available to those that have subscribed to Bungie Pro in the past. Out of curiostiy, how many people have Bungie Pro?
Let me start by saying, this really kicks-ass! (even though i know people will complain about the cost) I've been waiting on this for a while. And yes, i am a paid bungie pro subscriber, and i'm gonna get some montages going! (don't get any clever ideas you non-bungie-pro's)
This is pretty cool. The only thing is for those wanting to make montages with it, it seems that it won't be very practical if you have to spend points for each video rendered. It seems that the accumulation of points is going to be slow and make it take a long time to get the clips for a montage. Of course, I could be wrong and it sounds like you'll be able to pay for more points but who would want to do that? I'd rather spend the one time cost on a Capture Card then pay per clip via Render to Video. Of course, we'll see on Bungie Day.
I finally got to render a video and I gotta say, even standard definition is on par with the better capture cards. Now i have a special something to add to a map post!
Great, It's very helpful, but the fact we have to pay later is not so appealing. Still very helpful for those cheap and not wanting to spend money for a capture card.
I'm a little dissapointed that uploading a lot of videos will cost excess money. Subscribing to Bungie Pro should be enough, but then again, its good marketing. As for who has Bungie Pro, I'm estimating that 95% of FH regulars have 'em since they do come with the Mythic maps.
lucky me i bought mythic off eBay and had just enough ms points for pro also(and don't mean to spam or anything[i suppose its relevant]) my first video rendered: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
crakalaka123, Bungie Pro came with the Mythic maps, just like it did for the Legendary Maps. Edit: Never mind, only people who paid for their Bungie Pro, rather than recieved with the maps, are eligible. I watched the video they posted and was thinking "Hey, this map looks familiar!"
For those of you wanting to make montages for youtube... Here is the quality you will get. YouTube - halo 3 biggest online spawn fail I dl'd this(it's me) and posted it on youtube. Sucks that a 10 second clip costs the same as 1 minuted :S.
Huh, doesn't matter now that I have a capture card. Although this will hopefully ease the pressure off my capture service
sorry to self quote but am i the only one that can watch the video from the link i posted? i just clicked it while i wasnt logged in and it took me to where you download it to halo 3 just curious if i have to host it on youtube or something for other people to watch it or if its just a matter of being logged in
And just how much do you pay per minute? And is it free if you're pro, or is it only possible when you're pro but you still have pay for it?
I think it works really great. I just can't wait until the render to high def test. That will be an interesting test. I've noticed though that the minutes round up. So one minute and thirty seconds is as much as 2 minutes, 8 seconds = 1 minute, and so on.
I was pro even before the mythic maps, but I had to use 1 point for it. Right now it's beta, so I BELIEVE it's only pro that get the free points. You only get 4 points to start, however, so you can't get HD just yet unless you buy more. The quality is normal, so I don't understand why youtube would allow it to be HD'd .
Render-to-Video Video Thread Well, with the new feature on Bnet (Beta) you can now get your awesome clips from your file share captured on Bnet. Anywho, in this thread, just post your video(s) that you have got with the feature. Kill, map vids, betrayals, mulyi-kills, splats, lulz, etc. But please at least have a short description and a link to Youtube (if you got it on there) or to the video on Bnet. Now get to postin! Here's mine: Desciption: Back jump double kill. Then I hit a barrel it flys, and destroys a newly spawned elite 4 the splatter in a FFA Hammers on SMASHED. Link: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
I'm a little confused about this point system. From what I get by reading it, we randomly receive "Bungie Points" every now and again, or we can buy Bungie Points to add to our accounts if we want to render more than our free allotment? I am curious about how much these points will cost because most people have computers and can simply go buy a cap card and do it all themselves. I am sure with the cheap price of some cards these days it could be cheaper in the long run. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a free service, adding in the element of having to pay for this will turn a lot of people off. And before you say it, yes I understand that a service like this could and should cost a lot of money for Bungie to run, but lets just hope it stays relatively cheap.
