Weapon Training This is a map designed with multiple functions in mind. One of which is to train your aiming ability, and the other is to function as a warm-up game when there is no one to play with. Map Variant Game Variant Map Overview Weapon Storage Building The room you will spawn in has multiple weapon spawns, a door to take you to the range, and teleporters to take you to the shooting platforms. Weapon Spawns The weapon spawns are as seen and listed here: Sniper Rifle 1, AR 1, BR 2, SMG 1, Magnum 1, Rocket Launcher 2, Spartan Laser 2, Sentinel Beam 1, Carbine 1, Beam Rifle 1, Fuel Rod Cannon 2, Brute Shot 1, Spike Grenade 2, Plasma Grenade 2, Firebomb 1 NOTE: Any not seen in the below pictures are on the shooting platforms for ease of access. Human Weapons Caovenant/Brute Weapons Teleporters in the building take you to the respective platform (i.e. A sign takes you to AA platform, B sign takes you to BB platform, and in between them takes you to AB platform) NOTE: The Overshields/Active Camos' mark the teleporters. Teleporters Teleporter Room Platform AA Platform AB Platform BB Door Just walk into it to go through... NOTE: Yes, it works both ways; in or out. (outside) (inside) Shooting Platforms Platform Overview Each platform has a basic method, and that is as follows. To launch the target simply pick up the custom power up on the platform. Then attempt to shoot the target before it hits the ground. Before more targets can be launched the ones on the field will need to be destroyed (so even if you miss shoot the target where it lies). If you fall from a platform, or wish to get up onto another, simply walk into the marked part of the wall (teleporter glowy part) to get up. Each Platform has a different type of target designed to be used with a different type of munition. This will be explained further down. NOTE: You don't have to continually stand on the power up if you don't want to. Demonstration of Launch Switch Demonstration of Getting Up to the Top of a Platform Platform AA Platform AA is designed for ranged munitions, pretty much anything with a scope. The targets being launched in this case are propane tanks. Considering how small they are this is the ideal target for the sniper rifle, sparter laser, or beam rifle (feel free to use what ever weapon you want though). Targets Action Shots: Sniper Rifle Action Shots: Spartan Laser Action Shots: Sentinel Beam (cause it looks cool...) Platform AB Platform AB is designed for heavy munitions, or explosives. The targets for this platform are pallets; their large size makes them ideal for practicing the following weapons: Rocket Launcher, Fuel Rod Cannon, Machine Gun Turret, Stickies, and Spike Grenade. Targets Action Shots: Brute Shot Action Shots: Rocket Launcher Platform BB Platform BB is the easiest platorm, and is designed for use of any weapon of your choice. Though I personally prefer the Magnum, Carbine, or BR. The target being launched from this platform is a fusion coil. NOTE: if you wait untill the fusion coil gets near the far wall it becomes alot harder to hit, for those of you looking for a challenge. Target Action Shots: BR The Roof of Weapon Storage Building The roof functions as a viewing point for those just wanting to watch and as a parking garage for the mongooses. So feel free to drive around. wow this looks like a really good idea but i dont think you are really practising they all come from the same angle not different ones so you would always expect it
Actually not at all the only one that is even remotely consistent is the fusion coil hence the easiest one, the propane tanks and pallets go in completely varying directions everytime. Check it if you don't believe me. And play the map before you comment in a negative tone... (though i can see your reasoning)
The concept and the idea is great. It looks good i will download. But from the pictures it looks like one of those maps where if you try to play it with your friends, they will go in the center. So my suggestion would be to make it so that nobody could leave the area of play. from what i see 4.5/5
Well it really is'nt like it's bad if they go in the center the only reason the roadblocks are there is an aesthetic one. It doesn't effect the game at all really... But thanks for the comment.
Very nicely pulled off, the best range course i've seen in fact! I've seen lots of fusion coil-sniper courses, but the part with the explosive weapons really caught me, as well as the usage of propane tanks for an increased difficulcy level. I also liked how much time you apparently spent on this; all the geomerging, the interlocking, the doorway teleporters... It all shows you put effort in it. God job man
Golly i was working out a map similar to this, though yours is a whole lot better than my concept, this is definitely a good idea, and an awesome job with the map
Ok i tested the mapalone because thats the point right?) Lets get this out of the way, this is the best aesthetic shooting range ever. Note: to everyone who says that the switches only work once, you must shoot everything that comes out no matter what (even on the ground.) When you start off in the building it just feels like a shooting range from then on. I picked up a battle rifle and a sniper. Then i walked through the one on the left. When i arrived at the range i heard the lift go off, i was curious why you did not put it farther up(ill get back to that later. I then flipped the switch and shot the coils as they came out. The switch work perfectly. The fusion coils do come out pretty much the same way each time but its not a big deal. I went back to the building and walked through the door, it works perfectly. I went through the middle after picking op a rocket launcher, i stepped on the switch and the switch works pretty well and the pallets go in every which direction. I tried to use the turrets but could not because when holding on the turret the switch could not flip. I would like to know why you built it that way. The pallets jam sometimes, not against the switch but each other. I would suggest moving the walls apart ever so slightly. Ok the last one i used a sniper and that one works perfectly as well. The propane tanks are hard to hit which is good. About the first switch i looked inside all of the launchers then found out why what happened, happened. The last thing is the mongeese are a nice touch i like to think of them as a service when you want to go to another platform(i know about the way right bellow each platform), you can tell you buddy to come pick you up. Please disregard my last comment about blocking off play area, its not needed. This will stay on my hard drive. 5/5-DeathToll77
probably one of the cooler idea's i've seen. ive seen a lot of maps centered around shooting things but never anything like this. mad props.
This is by far one of the best weapon training maps I have seen in a while. This actaully could help me improve my skills in different areas. Good Job aesthetics are great, interlocking is great, overall looks good.
holy crap i agree with everyone else, awesome cannons, merging, everything! even that walkthrough door which i dont get..but still im definately downloading. 5
this is freaking genius, this is the best weapon training map I've seen so far, everthing is neatly interlocked and even the canon-mans are geo-merged, every set-up is great and has multiple option and weapons and you can do pretty much everything you want. you'll probably see me playing on this map on a saturday morning when nobody is online. +rep for you man, sweet job.
Well first off thank you, this is the first truly constructive and sensible review in a comment I think I've ever gotten. Now in response to your greivances: the teleporter on BB and the pallets jamming; I will say this. The teleporter is placed so mostly due to trying to keep the node hidden from view when down on the field. I could slide it back a few feet but you would still grab the custom powerup if you were walking forward into the sender. Now the pallets actually have a decent explanation; if I seperate the walls anymore for some reason the pallets jam more often; it seems the tighter fitting the pallets are in their holder the higher the efficiency is. So really only tightening the walls would fix the occasional jam, however I found that any tighter and the pallets get jammed on the walls themselves rather then eachother, so I took the median of the two and used a little slack as my gapping for the pallets. But excluding this, I must repeat myself and say thankyou for your comment. And on a second note thanks all for downloading. Sarge525

This looks really cool my favorite one is the pallet shooter thats absolutely insane. You could make a really good map so I want to see it first if you ever do.
Excellent! I have a map that is somewhat like this, but by far the map that I made is mediocre at best. If I played on this map though you could be sure that I would give it 5/5 for sure. A friend of mine had also made a map such as this, only it has a melee and a driving part as well, also the weapons are put in different areas, Heavy farside, Normal to range middle, Covenent other farside, melee near Covies but back near the storage room. Vehicles other side near opposite storage room.
Gotta admit, after seeing lots of these types of maps, I came in here with low standards. You proved me wrong. This is an excellent map and the closest "weapon training" to actual combat, as opposed to shooting stationary objects. Astounding interlocking and creativity. Good job.
Wow, I truly am amazed by this creative shooting range. It's certainly better then the ones that have just fusion coils flying every where. This reminds me alot of Clay Pigeons. I'm Downloading.
