This is definetly the best scarab map I've seen yet. It's the only one I've seen on Sandbox and you've done a great job in making it. You should make a map around it for infection because I'm sure you don't have enough budget or items to make a worthy competitive map. Your right though, when you said you put a lot off detail into the scarab's legs. Good job. This looks great.
The scarab, I must say, is awesome. The legs are definitey the selling feature for me, as they seem like your tore them from the original scarab itself and interlocked them on to your own. However, the body seems a bit blocky (but you are working with stone blocks) and the wraith as its main turret seems a bit crap as it shoots nothing like it, but it s the closest thing. Also, who said on team should start on the floor, have them both spawn at each end of the scarab, one defends its core, the other attacks from the front (spawn them in the sky so its like they have been dropped onto it?) Overall, AWESOME JOB! Best scarab out there!
dude this is nasty sick this is by far the best scarab created out there (besides the one in the game that actually moves lol =P) it looks extremely well forged and I can tell that if you shoot the grav lift it blow up (basically lol) 5/5!
Yeah, the body is actually the hardest part of making the scarab . It will be blocky in some parts, etc, I'm definitely not a perfect forger, the legs actually don't have very much interlocking at all in them and are actually quite simple. It just looks really good because everyone before didn't have room for the legs to really be how the legs were in campaign, on Foundry, I never saw a scarab map with the first box, then branch out to a second box, and then branch inward towards the scarab, then connect to the toe going outward. In short, there just wasn't enough room for a true remake. As for the wraith turret, i would put the top of the turret on, but if i did, the turret wouldn't be able to rotate, so i figured, its better to have a rotating turret without the actual turret, than a non moving turret that can only shoot in one direction.
You. My friend, have an awesome level of win. I myself have only just found this gem, i hear it got onto the Bnet front page, congratulations. I understand that there are people using this map to improve it, and perhaps amplify the explosion. I have an idea on how to do just that. -Set the run time minimum to 20, not 32, this will prolong the explosion And an idea on a possibility of making a larger explosion. -Include pallets in the explosion chambers and near fusion coils. Now i'm not sure if this works, but i used to make random maps on Narrows when i was bored, i found out that 2 pallets with 3 fusion coils amplified the explosion to make it a tad larger. This idea can only be done when the infinite budget glitch is available I'm not sure if it'll work, and i'm sorry if i wasted your time, but i thought i might try to help =] I really do like this map. I won't put an /5 rating because many people see that as spam :O instead i'll just say that this map is excellent, and doesn't need a rating system
tried the fusion coil thing, it didnt work oh well, im probably going to start a new scarab soon and it will be even better
theres no doubt this si the best scarab map ever... when i clicked on this i thought it was going to be like all the others and you really shocked me and i'd like to know how long did you spend making this?, also the face that you made the blow up thing just shows how much extra detail you went into
Great looking scarab. I think the wraith on the tail is a great opportunity to use an upside down tin cup instead of wasting all those other pieces to lock it in place. A wraith placed on an upside down tin cup will allow the wraith to turn around completely, but won't be able to move off of it.
o rly! ima have to look into this, i know from ascending which i dled and love, that it locks the banshee but i never thought about using it specifally in that way considering that the magnetic kind of thing was a mistake by the creator. Ill look into this Thanks for the idea!
It looks like a great map for fictional spin-off's, e.g. you might make a vehicle carrier version designed after the human/covenant war. Fictional Vehicle Carrier example: Spoiler You could even make a Scarab Variant contest.

I agree I have seen another scarab, except is was a spider. This is the best one I have seen, it really looks like a Scarab from the game. I also like the position you put the Scarab in, it actually looks like its about to attack. So nice remake

Yes, I see you're getting great feedback here. Heres some more. It looks amazing. Every detail makes it that much closer to resembling a real scarab. Built exactly the same, and One bomb on it would be fantastic!!!
This is probably one of the best scarabs ever made in the history of forging scarabs, I think if you made a fusion coil core in the back (how you destroy a real scarab) and had hallowed out legs (using tunnel pieces) and ran fusion coils through said legs that would make a real crazy explosion 4.9/5
