I was wondering the other day if it's possible to make a good Mancannon-based launcher to shoot people from the Crypt up to the main level of Sandbox. When I originally heard about the Crypt, I was really hoping that it would be easy to just put Mancannons inside the Crypt chute. Unfortunately, Mancannons do not fit inside the chute. My crappy solution to this was to put Mancannons right underneath the chute in the Crypt, and then place Grav Lifts inside the chute itself. However, you need to have super-low gravity settings for it to work. Anybody have any better ideas on how to make a good, consistently functional launcher that works with normal gravity settings? My only other thought would be to get out of the map into the space between the Crypt and the Main Level via a turret or something, and place the Mancannons onto the Crypt chute from outside the map. I don't even know if that's possible, though. Question Answered. Do not post anymore.
Teleporters fit in the chute, don't they? You can have man cannons and grav lifts for the first part, a teleporter 1/4 of the way up, a reciever node 3/4 of the way up and finish it off with grav lifts. That way you cut out half the chute but is not too noticable!
I agree with the above post, that'd be the most likely. Glitching out, I haven't tried anything like that yet so I'm not sure either if it would work. Could be worth a try though, just alternate sides that the man cannons are on for a consistent motion. I don't think four lifts would even get you up high enough though stacked would they? Teleporters are probably your best solution.
Trying to get outside of the Shaft area won't work, you explode/die as soon as you let go of the Turret.
actually, if you make a double box and make it so it doesn't respawn when the round starts, you can end the round then go under the place where the double box is place.after that wait for the box to respawn and then when your being pushed under the map turn into monitor and you can fly around.
You could put a custom power-up to instant-respawn at key points, and then set the gravity settings on them to be lower.
C'mon, guys. The answer isn't that hard! Just put a man cannon right below the chute and place grav lifts on teleporters where needed. You should make it.
I have seen one before, but I do not remember if the gravity setting where changed or not. You could use a tele, but that would not have the same effect. Are you absolutely sure that you must be on low gravity for it to work? Also, have you tried geomerging the mancannons? If all else fails, I would take Nemi's idea.

Just dont freek out when everything goes all tripy. From here just place the mancanons outside the tube I really only did this a few times messing around and had some object creating problems out there but if someone could make this work it would probably be the best way to smoothly get a launch from crypt to main level.
I saw one where you used teleports to build momentum. You would jump into one and would shoot out another (like the stargate map) and your gravity would pull you into the next one which brought you back up to the teleporter that dropped you and evertually you build so much speed when you hit the lower teleporter, you lag past it and you can go through another teleporter because the game doesnt teleport you through the one before and you have so much momentum its just like POOOOOOOOOOOOOOM ;p
