Bungie.net link: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details Hey there, first post. This is a map that i just pumped out today in about 1-2 hours. It's a tad unpolished, and I probably should have done some interlocking/merging, but I was too lazy and it doesn't really make a difference because the map is so small anyways. It is a symmetrical map, with 2 bases separated by three kill balls that you can barely squeeze through. However, there are bubble shields near the gaps between them. In case you didn't know, if you deploy a bubble shield inside a kill ball, the kill ball doesn't kill you. That will be useful because the gaps are VERY SMALL. It is designed for symmetrical games. Please test it and give feedback. Screenshots:
You need to embed screenshot's, a link to Map posting Rules and a tutorial on how to post images is in my Signature below, nice name though. No one else post about pictures!
This map doesn't look like it would make excellent gameplay. 3 killballs in such a tiny map even with bubble shields would be very frustrating and people playing the map would die a whole lot. However your map looks clean and I can tell you put a little bit of time and effort into it, that deserves some praise. 1/5 Nice screenshots
you would set the respawn time low and you can also jump over the gaps in the kill balls (look at a screenshot 2).
Thats really not the point kill balls should not really be used as an obstacle in game play if its the only way to get to your opponents. Killballs usualy should be used as things to kill people if they fall down a pit or as a sun or something. Forcing people to jump over them every time on such a small map is not good gameplay. I would remove the kill balls add some railings. But honestly I would go back to the drawing board and start over. You shouldn't give up just look at others maps and what people think so you can have an idea of what makes a map fun and competative. Killballs are usualy frowned upon if placed on a slayer map (not always). Just try and improve some of us have mor starting talent then others but hard work can always overcome any talent or knack for mapmaking. Keep trying and ask questions.
I did write "i just pumped out today in about 1-2 hours." I'm not necessarily a rookie at Forge, it's just that this map in particular was just me in my spare time. It started out with me messing around with a kill ball and some of the photo fx, and then I noticed that It looked like a star of some sort, hence the name, Sun Gods. I could get rid of the two kill balls that are not in the center. That would free up a lot of the movement area.
