I was tweaking a map I had made on Sandbox that had a maxed out budget when I figured out I noticed the "Wall" item was still bold, I could still place more. 24 walls later I finally hit the OLN, although I wasn't using a budget glitched canvas and hadn't budget glitched the map myself.

Can anyone explain/ hypothesize what is happening? All I did was use a few original canvas items in my map, and now I can go past the budget limit.

I noticed this to, but it was with column, stone small, not walls. I'm not sure why this happens, but Bungie made some odd tweaks to some items' runtime maxes (Or the max allowed or something like that). It might have something to do with that.

I think a lot of people are noticing this. I found the same thing on the map I was working on. At first I thought that perhaps everyone was using the same "stacked" canvas and that the author had budget glitched some of the items. So I went back to the default Sandbox to check it out. It turns out that Columns and Single Walls have been budget glitched in the default Sandbox. To check it out load up the original and look at the runtime max for these items, this is set to a number greater than the number of these items placed on the map. I dunno how it got like that but this could have some implications for the folks over at Atlas where budget glitching in a no-no.

The person who made the Sandbox Stacked Canvas which is posted here at ForgeHub didn't finish the job and there is quite a lot of the budget hidden away but you don't notice until you get to the point you described.

Some items (such as walls and Battle Rifles) have had their Run Time Maximum set higher than the actual number of the map. BRs for example, there are only 6 on the map but their Run Time Max is 16. Bungie did this so they didn't have to put 16 BRs o the map, just 6 BR spawn points and a max of 16 can spawn.
Theres probably lots of info already posted on Run Time Max and Min so I won't go in to any more detail.

    Solving the problem:
    1) When your budget reaches 0, open up the item menu and select the items which haven't been greyed out. Set their Run Time Max to the No. on Map. You'll get some of your budget back.
Repeat until you reallly have run out of money and all items appear grey.

    -or-

    2) Download the Stacked Canvas and go through every single item, check the Run Time Max = No. on Map.
    You'll need to change:
    Wall, Single
    Battle Rifle
[I will continue the list once I've checked which items are 'glitched']

    EDIT:

It just occured to me, by doing this you may be affecting the OLN. I'll need to check. I don't know whether those extra items which aren't actually on the map, just included in the RT Max, are counted as default objects.
I don't think so if ScarecrowXavier manged to spawn 24 walls and then hit the OLN. If the walls were included as default items then he wouldn't have hit the OLN by just adding them on to the map, because they were technically already on the map. I think this just affects the budget, not the OLN. Can anyone confirm either way?

    'nother Edit;

OK, after a little looksy I can say that my above theory is wrong. Wall, Single's RT Max is 4 and there only 2 on the map. If you leave the RT Max as for then you can spawn lots more when you reach $0. If you set the RT Max to 2 then you gain $10 and you can then only put 2 more walls down.

Still, if its urgent, if you really just need $10 - $20 more then you can change the Run Time Max of a few items (Walls, Red and Blue Coloumns, a few others too).

Hmm I always thought that certain objects were allowed to be placed after the OL. I believed they consisted of battle rifles, frag nades, occasionally a mongoose or plasma nade, and now on sandbox some columns and yes single walls. If the reasone you can place them after isnt this simple then ive been mistaken this whole time but Im pretty shure budget glitching has nothing to do with it since this has happened to me at least three times on maps I started using the default bungie map.
