Hey hey, I hope this is in the right section, just holla if it isn't.

I'm having this problem with a map I'm making. I've used all 4 Lights (2 blue and 2 red), and 2 of them are placed right next to each other to make a purple Light. The 2 single Lights are floating by themselves, in the air above the two bases. The 2 Lights that are right next to each other are also "geomerged" or whatever you call it (I don't know how to properly use the terminology yet) inside a Tall Block, to tone down their brightness (and not blind anyone who looks directly at them).

So that all sounds pretty normal, right? Well I thought it did. But whenever I try to play the map with a guest, the Lights DON'T SPAWN or just DON'T WORK (I can't tell, since it's in a game, but I think it must be not spawn) and it's totally really superbly pissing me off. I think that it is due to the presence of a guest, because when I play the map by myself the Lights all spawn fine. And I've played the map with one other person over Live, and although I didn't ask if they could see the lighting okay, it was working for me in this case also.

So what is the freakin dealy-o? Am I just boned, and the lights for some reason will not spawn if there are guests in the game?? This doesn't seem right, so I'm figuring (and REEEEALLY hoping) that I can fix this.

POR FAVOR let me know if you understand this problem and can tell me how to fix it.

Did you check if they spawn at start? If they do in Forge, start a new round and see if they stay.

Yeah that's the thing: I think it happened once and I was like "doh!" and so I went back to set them to spawn at start, but it still happens! So no, unfortunately I don't think that it's a spawn at start problem (although I'm going to go double and triple check)

Hmm... that's very odd. Send me a message (GT: AmercanPsycho) and I'll check it out tomorrow.

That's the thing though, it only happens when there are guests. I started a game to try try out my maps spawn points with a guest and the lights work for a fraction of a second as the game starts, then just die.

Splitscreen breaks the lights, but they work normally over Live.
However, if you interlock them inside an object (Interlocking is object-in-object, geomerging is object-in-ground) they can sometimes go away after a while. Playing splitscreen with interlocked lights will just end up breaking them.
Either place them behind the tall block, or accept the problems that can occur with interlocking.

K yeah I've searched through some other threads too and it looks like the interlocking + guests is probably the problem, so I'll try to remove the interlocking half of that equation (and thanks for the terminology help)

PS if I have "broken" the lights by playing split screen with them interlocked, can I still delete and replace them and have them work? (omg i will crai all day if not)

Yes. They're really only "broken" in the sense they won't show up on splitscreen. If you pull them out of the block they should be fine, outside of splitscreen.
