Gaming music - I'm pretty sure most of you gamers out there listen to music while gaming, and some people say it helps them get warmed/pumped up, and focus more on gameplay. I'm bored to death listening to people talk...or not talk at all in the pre-game lobby, so I started playing music. Besides, my mic is broken, and nobody ever announces a tactic or plan to the team to get us to win. We all do our own stuff basically.

That put aside, what genre of music do you listen to (metal, alternative, hip hop, rap, pop, gospel...) and what bands specifically? (system of a down, green day, t-pain, eminem, katy perry, your local church's choir group). Also, why you listen to it, and what effect does it have on you when you play. If you want, you can post what bands are in your "gaming playlist" and how loud you play it.

    Ex.
    Metal
    System of a Down
Makes me want to hit something and gets me more focused
I play it mega ultra loud, and it deafens out the sound of the audio coming from my TV.

Note: Some geniuses/annoying people have been playing music into their mic loudly, and it either distracts or inspires the team. I myself, have sang "The Final Countdown" into my mic in a BTB assault game, and we actually lost. But it make my whole team chuckle. And uh...if there has already been a post like this, then I fail.

I generally listen to a lot of rock/metal. A lot of Metallica, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, etc. Just because it's the kind of music I prefer. I don't think it has an effect on me playing. And I listen to it really loud. Loud enough so that I can barely hear anything from the t.v. And with surround sound, that = win.

I usually listen to Steve Vai, Aerosmith or Kanye West (very different genres) just because It's the artists I listen too. It does help keep my mind off of getting to hyped up though, I tend to get hyped up in ranked and get an attitude.

I usually listen to it on my Ipod Volume to the max.

Personally i Listen to music, just to play in the background. Not Really to Enjoy it (though thats not always true), but just to have it playing. However the Music you do listen to will affect your gaming. More aggressive music, will make you more 'hyper', however less Teamwork will be used because you just want to kill.

I usually listen to some Led Zeppelin when I play video games. Usually on pretty low volume just as background music. I like their music when playing because they have a good mix of pumping up music and cooling down music.

I listen to hard rap and rock while playing. And by hard rap I mean if the beat and lyrics are good, and get me pumped, than it's good. I don't listen to alot of rock anymore besides Linkin Park, Rise and rage against the machine, **** I think that is it.
    Nas
    Eminem
    DMX
    BIG
    The Game
    Ice Cube
    Tupac
and a lot of others like the above

Oh God, why hasn't anyone thought of creating such a productive thread. Anyway, this is my gaming orchestra (Possible meme from All the Above).

I listen to current music that I enjoy. Presently it's mostly composed of
    All the Above-Maino ft. T-pain
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ-OxKu8fes
    Hot Revolver-Lil Wayne
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4bODGNIwcI
I'mma put it on her-Day 26 ft. P. Diddy, Yung Joc
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgsybAb8QoY
    Dizzy-Day 26
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRFdTLJJpkM
And old song, but an extremely motivational one for me is Because of you-Ne-yo
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-FdoZdfpmE

All the above (Unintended meme) is mostly hip-hop/R&B/Rap, which are my favorite genres. Music improves my focus, mentality, and composure. When I'm completely indulged in music, I envision I'm in a movie where nothing can even compare to me. While not much really changes game-play wise, it's extremely fun to play while listening to favorite tracks.

Me, I just put my Ipod on shuffle, so i'll list every single artist then, shall I? Nah, that's too much effort. But really I usually just scroll down to P and then click on Pink Floyd. Such a legend Pink Floyd is.
When forging I listen to anything that isn't fast and aggressive.

All kinds of Rock. I don't like to listen to music in the actually game, but I sometimes listen in when searching for a match.

I remember one time I was Octogoning while listening to some really fast-tempoed rock, and I played 3 times better.
