yes, it's another maze. being a first timer here, I'm still learning the ropes about the forge hub community. I see you take your crafts very seriously and that's a good thing. I've dabbled in forge on and off since I got the game but this is the first map in which I put some serious effort into. The name of the map speaks for itself: VIP Maze no weapons placed on map no grenades sender nodes give you the choice of the right or wrong way 2nd part of maze is hazardous if your timing is wrong due to the explosions meant to be played with VIP game variant below aMazing VIP up to 8 players (no teams) everyones a VIP spawn and respawn in the same area (at the beginning) you spawn with a pistol and no weapon pickups from dead players one goal is at the end set to one round of 15 minutes and one point to win spawn and respawn area maze entrance overviews goal and view from goal dangerous paths
Your map is an interesting concept and im sure it has been done or at least attempted before. I think there is only one problem with your map which would be that timing the explosive hallways and navigating through the maze would not be as enjoyable since other teams would be killing you and such. You could also ride a fusion coil's explosion onto a box and hop your way to the finish. I just think puzzle maps or maze maps don't mix well with the option of killing those who spent so much time to get to where they were to be sent back to start. I may DL to try and navigate through myself but I have a feeling that would be too easy. However your map looks fairly clean I don't believe I see interlocking or geomerging but for this type of map they're not all that necessary. Everything is lined up nice and straight and this is a fairly good first post so I would say keep at it and maybe integrate a little more innovation and a little less kill orientation into a maze map.
Honestly, I don't like. Not because it's bad, but because mazes are just boring to me. It's a personal opinion, I know, so don't take it as an insult. I noticed you didn't interlock, but you don't need to. The map it very well built, everything is stright and lined up. The only thing I suggest is to add a roof so people can't jump over it or fix the game type so that the gravity is raised. Hope to see more and intresting maps from you soon.
you make some valid points. it may have worked better to add more VIP goals around the map and change the points to win in the game variant. random respawn points would make more sense in that way. not sure if I'm at the item limit for adding more goals and respawns. I did run out of money. I didn't know about the item and money glitching until I found this site just recently. I didn't have a clue about all the fantastic forging techniques until I started looking at the tutorials here, hence no interlocking and merging in my map. it will take a bit to digest it all but I'm willing to learn. hopefully, I can post something sometime soon that is enjoyable to play and nice to look at. I was never able to ride an explosion onto a structure and hop my way to the finish.....not saying it's impossible, just didn't happen for me. cheers....dr
no offense taken whatsoever. appreciate you taking the time to comment even though you're not a fan of mazes. I can't add a roof because I ran out of money and if you see my above post, it pretty much explains that and the lack of interlocking and merging. I'm sure I had the gravity set right in the variant unless I accidently changed it. I hope to see more interesting maps from me too. thanx! have a good one
