Don't know if its been posted yet, sorry if it has (searched and nothing came up) but I just saw on Yahoo that due to the success of Wolverine, Deadpool is getting his own movie/possible franchise!!! XD __________________________ It's official: The mutants are taking over Hollywood. And we're not talking about the freaks running the studios. Following the monster weekend for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and a day after announcing that a Hugh Jackman-powered sequel is in the works, 20th Century Fox has confirmed to E! News that Jackman's costar Ryan Reynolds will be given his own spinoff and potential franchise-launcher as the Marvel Comics antihero Deadpool. The 32-year-old Canadian actor, otherwise known as Mr. Scarlett Johansson, will again star as Wade Wilson, a wisecracking, cancer-stricken mercenary who's cured of the disease after undergoing the same Weapon X genetic alteration as Wolverine. But along with superhuman powers, enhanced strength and self-regenerating healing powers, the slightly unhinged Deadpool can absorb the abilities of dead and captured mutants. Aside from Deadpool and the Wolverine sequel, Fox is also working on an X-Men spinoff focusing on Ian McKellen's villainous Magneto and another dubbed X-Men: First Class, which is being written by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz. ^From article, which can be found below... I was about to drop to my knees and thank god for the saving of deadpool, however when I saw the power absorbing... well were just back where we were at the end of origins http://www.forgehub.com/forum/off-topic/68955-x-men-origins-wolverine.html {read any post on deadpool}
Hollywood is going to kill I personally thought that the Wolverine movie was atrocious. Let's wait and see how bad they make this one.
OMG! I ****ing love Deadpool. One of my favorite memes <3. I just hope they dont cause epic *facepalm* like with daredevil, The Incredible Hulk, or Fantastic Four.
Dow I couldn't be more in agreement with the love of deadpool, he is awsome. but there is just one tiny little thing in that article that makes me want to hunt down the people behind this: since when was that in the comics???
Like I said, Wolverine Origins was atrocious, one of the factors that makes me think that is the fact that they made up so much stuff in the movie that was never heard of ever, especially in the comics. I wouldn't doubt it if the producers/directors/writers/etc. screw the plot/storyline/information with made up content for this Deadpool movie.
Yay Deadpool. The thing is they'll change him up like crazy, just like what they did with wolverine's life. I only know one thing that'll be good in the movie, similar to wolverine. Fight scenes. No one can deny the fact that Deadpool's scene was pretty ****ing awesome. Everything else like characters and plot and directing will pretty much suck. Hopefully not though.
I will agree that he was funny (see the elevator scene), but the 'fight' scene... well the one with the real deadpool (i refuse to call that monstrosity at the end deadpool was really just him swinging hos sword super fast. However I will admit tht Weapon XI (the official name of that .. thing at the end) was awsome, and made good use of the teleportation. Also the writer of the OC is writing a script about mutants???
This pisses me off even more than how much they ruined him in the Wolverine movie. Apparently completely ruining and killing everything that actually made deadpool awesome isnt enough, now they have to piss and **** all over it twice. all this is is capitolizing on jackasses who dont know anything about the history of comics or characters backgrounds. its really disappointing to me but i understand why it happens. i just dont get why Deadpool wasnt good enough the way he is: a wise-cracking badass motherfucker. maybe some jerkoff in a suit thought he was too similar to spidey or something. **** this movie.
Well at least they haven't made a Transmetropolitan movie yet. I'd have to take out a Winchester and go find the director.
Well I cant wait for the Deadpool movie. Me just being the guy who see's movies, not reads the comics. Although I did read up about deadpool from the comics, and I suppose they did ruin him a good amount, but I thought the actual movie was fairly good.
I agree 100% with Titmar. I grew up with the X-men, The Watchmen, and other various Comic Books so **** like this sucks a major ****.
