I feel a bit lame asking this, but does anyone know a way of getting walls on sandbox to stand precicely upright 100% of the time. I mean exactly 90' rather than 89 or 91. At the moment I am pushing them right up against blocks then deleting the blocks, but this is faffy and not terribly reliable resulting in a lot of ever so slightly tilting walls. Any help appreciated
Push them right up against those blocks, then set up a man cannon against them so it pushes them against the block and the ground. Tap the wall again and when it settles, it should be pressed firmly against the block. Really, you shouldn't need that for every wall you place, but if you're having trouble placing walls precisely, screw precision and just use man cannons to brute force it. Same goes for floating, just build a guide on top and to the side, and cannon it into the corner between those two guides rather than trying to precisely save&quit.
If the objects you want to place defaults to the angle you want when you select it from the menu, you can ensure it is oriented in that position by placing it without touching the right stick, saving, and restarting. Otherwise, you've just got to rely on manual dexterity and experience (including the technique above, although personally I would find that a little unnecessary). Some objects are more troublesome than others - consider substituting one for another.
Indeed it is unnecessary, like I said you shouldn't need to do that for every wall. Placing by hand is far simpler once you get used to it.
What that guy said about not touching the right thumbstick is absolutely right. Bungie even said themselves when you spawn an object. It defaults to a perfect upright position. If you simply don't touch the thumbstick, it will save as perfectly upright even if it doesn't LOOK like it is when saving.
