Archetype Archetype is a symmetrical map located on the middle level of Sandbox. There are two main bases, each housing a warthog and two mongooses. Each team can walk and take a direct route to the other base, or they can use the vehicles. The only way to get from one base to the other in a vehicle is to travel across the huge arch. So, this was the main idea I had coming into this map. This map is highly team based, and right now is set up for team slayer and multi-flag (4v4 is recommended and slayer is also compatible). I haven't done alot of testing on this map, so get some friends together and let me know what you think. This is my first forgehub post, but I have many other maps that I will be posting soon. this is a really sweet map i really like the 3rd to last picture mostly becase it give me an idea for a map. how you can jump in to a whole and the car could just park on top of you. good hiding spot looks grate!
I like the map from what I saw in the pictures. 4/5 I think the only thing bad about it is the sword room, on an open map like this the sword is useless (almost) and while the player goes to retrieve it he is totally out where the action is happening.
Wow, this looks like it has great gameplay. The arch is beautifully made.I think that the rockets should be a laser. It'd be easier to kill the warthogs. The weapons on this map seem balanced and fair and you execute this map very well. I honestly don't see any flaws with this map. Good job.
Wow this looks great, I created a bridge map as well and I can see things that both of us have incorporated. I like the way you can drop down into those holes on the bridge, I can see some epic " Warthog rages after flag carrier over bridge as he suddenly drops out of view, just escaping his messy death" action in the future. Sword room looks pretty sick too. Nice work!
very nice arch. haven't seen one that well forged in eva. the bases look even. hope you can do what ever you need to do if you want to make a v2
i think the arch and the aesthetics under the arch are great, but the rest of the map to me seems kinda like after the arch you stopped making it look good, dont take that too badly though, i still really like the map and the layout, i just think it could look a little better in the other places, great job on the arch though.
This looks like a very good map, forging is excellent on the arch. The rest of the map looks good to. The only complaint i have is the rocket being on the arch, since it is the anti vehicle weapon I would put it somewhere the vehicles don't go.
I like the line of large columns you have that prevent the vehicles from accessing the other base without using the bridge. I also really like the asthetics of the bridge, but it seems like the rest of the map pales in quality in comparison to the bridge. I guess its a commen problem when you build a nice looking structure like the bridge, but over-all the map still looks very fun, and its nice to see that you didn't put a laser to kill the warthogs. Lasers ruin vehicle maps (cause I'm a driver, and I like having a fighting chance!).
Awesome concept and even better execution. I've wanted to make a map with a huge arch kind of resembling valhalla but i still dont know how to execute. Very cleanly merged and a lot of great strategic control points. The vehicle barrier is a great idea aswell.
I've seen quite a few sandbox maps and that arch is one of my favorite structures I have seen so far. I am downloading this for my customs.
The middle area is done beautifully. Great job on the bridge and I really like the area under it, especially with those little drop down holes. But the bases seem a little bland to me. The dont really go with the rest of the map in my opinion. Might I suggest deleting the red and blue lights on top of the two 'towers' and using that money to spruce em up a little? Possibly even deleting the columns that go out into the sand. I can understand why you wouldn't want to do that though, so the warthog just cant go around to that side instead. But you can still go around the bridge side with the hog. Those are just my suggestions though, other than that Great forging and keep up the good work.
This map has a very nice layout. My favorite part is the big bridge with the hideout underneath. From what I can see, the line of sight looks exelant. I always love maps with large bridge structures like there is in this one.
Looks nice its symetrical and clean.Its pretty closed up.The weapons you chose should work well.The arch/bridge looks sweet.Ive seen alot but this one is probably this is the best ive seen.Keep up the good work.:0)
This is probably one of the better maps on the main floor of Sandbox I've seen. I love the bridge, but the other side of the map isn't bad. I like the Sword Room, with its little chutes and such. After reading the post again, I just noticed that that line of Columns is actually a vehicle barrier. That's pretty damn original! Rating: Aesthetics: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Gameplay: N/A Layout: 4.5/5 Overall: N/A (My review will be updated once I play a few games on here.)
Thanks to everyone for all the comments and and suggestions. Yes, i know the main bases are a little sloppy and the middle is sorta plain, but most of that was designed around lines of sight and weapon/equipment placement (which I tried to do a good job on). But I would like for it to have a better aesthetic appeal to it without sacrificing gameplay, which is what I'm working on now ;P. But thanks again to all I would appreciate any more suggestions for a v2
Pictures sold me on this one, I really like the celing holes into the bottom structure created by the bridge. Looks great, prolly plays even better! DLing now. . .
Wow, looks really good. Interesting idea with the vehicle barrier never seen something like it. I like that big arch bridge thing and the sword spawn area.
The large bridge should be more centered in the map, with side-bases. It reminds me of a sweet version of Narrows. Very good job with the bridge and nicew Locking,
