Why hello there good sirs, today I would like to share my Rocket Race map Unholy Speed with you! Download Unholy Speed here Download Rocket Race here I first started Unholy speed by messing around with some ideas that were floating in my head. When I had a basic layout down I looked at it for a while and noticed that I forged a map that could play pretty good with Rocket Race! Of course, I've changed most of it to make it even better... but some of the things are still from the basic layout. I'll go ahead and tell you know before you load it up, the lasers are not blocked so be careful not to leave the boarders... So yeah, I hope you enjoy it. Here's some screenshots: Thanks to all who helped test and give me advice to make it better.
Looks pretty cool, but maybe and overview pic with the Destinations circled. And Lasers Unblocked :O Play at your TGIF yes?
Hey Vorpal its been a while! This looks like a great rocket race map! There have been lots of those crazy skybubble tracks, so its good to see this break the trend a bit. I like all the unique forging as well (the middle ramp is my favorite destination area). Are the markers set in any order or does it play random?
Plays random. But I was told the outer marks pop up more often than the inner ones... Also, The screenshots show all of the marks.
Where did my geomarging go D: ?! Anyways, a great Rocket Race map, gameplay is fast, not too fast so the gunner can have fun. Better than most Rocket Race amps out there. Oh, and I think it was a good choice to leave the towers un-blocked. Makes it more exciting. (Driving back in would be kinda boring, just like resawning, but maybe it flipped, and then it takes even longer......) My rating is a definite 5/5.
looks like a pretty good rocket race map man but unfortunatly yesterday later in the day my x box gave the the deadly 3 rings of death and I will not be able to see it for myself but it looks pretty sweet =) Oh and I want to know something... I think my x box is over the warrenty so I would have to pay $120 for microsoft to replace it when it will just do it again or should a buy one of those things online that tells you how to do it so it will never happen again... anyone know if it actually works or not?
Well Im not much into Rocket Race but the one game I played with you was fun. (sorry about leaving all unexpected like out of nowhere). I usually dont like the filters but whatever you used was pretty cool, gave it a real dark feel, which was cool cuz the destinations kinda tell you where to go but you gotta dodge stuff on the way. We would have won too if that one guy hadnt got off the mongoose and shot us every time we got near that one destination. This map showed me that I am a better mongoose driver than I thought. After playing on this, I think I will get into the Rocket Race. Good job.
I really like it, Definetly has some key vip points that are intiresting. The map is also very pleasing to look at while your racing to beat the other team. Lastly this map incorporates rockets so much more than playing on boring old sandtrap all the time *cough* bungie *cough*. 5/5 (I love map design and use of rockets)
does it play well, just saying because the map is quite small without the guardians off. correct me if im wrong
Yes, it plays well. If the guardians were blocked then (IMO) there would be too much free space. So yeah, for its size, it plays well.
Vorpal Saint, I want to first of all say you've done a great job on forging this map everything looks clean and was fun to play around on. I like this much more than any other Rocket Race map I have ever seen. I like it because the Rocket Race points are great fun to get to, and I like the height where you put select points. It seems like a more fast paced Rocket Race game, and it is smooth fun riding on a Mongoose. You done quite a great job on the map, I would love to see more RR maps from you. You have done a RR map to where I actually enjoy it more that if I was playing any other RR map. Likes: -Great forging, smooth game play. -The map feels more even than others, like you have more of chance to be on other side of map, and still can get there faster than someone closer. -I enjoyed being the rocket guy, I felt as if I could see the Enemies were I needed to see them. - I love the ramps, and Height Variations. Things I think could be changed: -I think if you would have the lasers blocked and made more checkpoints out side it would be great, cause the dunes out there are great to ride, and work with. -Also I think you should Geomerge some of the things, and interlock some things to make it more visually appealing, also more smooth riding. You've done a great job, those are my ideas of how to make it better, I think it will benifit to help the map.
hey I've been making a map for rocket race too. It's not finished though so until then I'll just have to download this.
This looks like a nice map its not so big but u could of done better like interlock but the rest is good and how many people can play this.
Looks fun, I like how almost all of the larger structures are able to be driven uder. This appears to give it more of a technical feel, unlike larger maps like Sandtrap, which require much longer drives to each destination. Something that may seem like a problem is that since it is a smaller map, when the destination changes it may relocate very close to a team. But this is countered because many of the destinations are on top of a structure, in which the driver will need to drive around toward the ramp to climb it, which gives other teams a chance to get there. Seems like it plays out great.
Very nice, one of the better Sandbox Rocket Race maps for sure. After you play it a few times you can even pull off boosts across some of the larger structures when given the opportunity, that is what really sold me on the map. I like the dark filter, the ruins surrounding the outermost destinations and the open guardians. All of this combines to create a very unique RR map that plays out rather well. The only thing I've noticed is that if you are relatively close to the Guardian zone and you blast a team out into them, quite frequently your team is dispatched shortly after they explode, even though you are already well back on your way to the middle. It's not every time but it is fairly consistent, not that an extra explosion or two hurt anyone! Great effort, it's certainly earned a spot in my Sandbox rotation.
