Sandbox Parabola

    Parabola

    Definition: The curve formed by the set of points in a plane that are all equally distant from both a given line (called the directrix) and a given point (called the focus) that is not on the line.

    Description

    Parabola is a U shaped Conquest (Reverse Tug-of-War; Territories Game Variant) Map. There isn't much to explain about a U, but here goes. The map is symmetrical. Each base is made up of a semi-ring of 10 Obelisks, and 10 Large Ramps, the ramps form the top spawning hive, the obelisks form the bottom level, where the main spawning area is. The map ramps up from Huge Blocks to Double Blocks between the first and second territories. The walls in three places are made of wood, as well as two wodden bridges to lessen the sharp corner. This is for looks, not for lack of items. Weapon placement follows the guide set by AZN FTW. Gloomy is on, because I believe it looks better that way. If you think otherwise, go ahead and remove it; it's in the center territory. I did hit the item limit, so the map lacks a good center piece, and the center territory is rather small, but there really isn't a way around that. Download it, comment on it, whatever.

    This looks awesome! If positioned properly, I think it could be used for an amazing CTF map. However, it does look pretty good for just Conquest (which I love). It is also very aesthetically pleasing. Great job, I love the look of it. 8/10.

    I <3 conquest. And, this map looks good for it. I also like how you did the spawn hive like in Socratic Method. You executed this very well. The layout is very simple (obviusly). The only thing is the middle stretch doesn't have much cover. It's okay though. One more thing. The wood parts look awesome. Good job. You got my download. Can't wait to play it.

    in my opinion, that one long hallway is way to open, i realize you ran out of objects, but its going to affect gameplay, and in my opinion, for the worse. Also just wondering, but wheres the parabola? i like the idea, but it should actually be completely curved, with no exactly straight edges, thats more what a parabola is, im in algebra right now, haha, i would know.

    This looks cool I like the wood design the most well done keep on forging. Try making some sniping holes in the wood.

    I'd recommend saying that the map is to played with Conquest more clearly because some of the people posting don't seem to realize. You do know there is a 'Conquest' prefix right?

    The map looks like a very good Conquest map. I really like the curvature you have going. The placement of the wood bridges makes it look aesthetically pleasing. And the spawn hives are nice to prevent spawn-killing. Does the map actually have the Gloomy FX on?

    I really like this map. I really like the design of the bases, and the long pathways. Your bases look very well made, and the interlocking looks great. This map also lives up to the name conquest, the U shaped map is a very common, but very good layout.

    I just want to bring this into the comments; I know the middle hallway is empty and coverless....I will make a V2 in the future, though it might be in the crypt. If that's the case, there will be more aesthetically pleasing things, because of the crypt's floor.

    (crypt because it will force me to make it smaller...meaning more objects. Is the main area or crypt bigger?)
