Yes getting some things straight can be very difficult, especially if they are hovering.

I am having the same problem. I just started forging like 3 days ago and can't seem to keep my walls straight. I tried the box thing but sometimes its hard for me to even get that straight. Any tips?

Change your control sensitivity down to 1. That can help, especially if you're floating stuff. The box thing works for me, but in the end, it comes down to practice. After a while, everything just kind of starts going where you want it to. Or, hire an army of wall-straightening gnomes...

If you use something like a box to keep your walls straight, you'll probably have to do some quick grab/releases to do some fine tuning to make the wall perfectly straight. The key is PATIENCE. It is verrrrrrry easy to get frustrated, especially when spending half an hour just trying to get one wall just so.

Oh yesm I forgot about patience. Patience is key. That's really what separates good maps from the rest of the pack: The maker had the patience to make everything extra-special. You can tell when you run through a map how much time was put in.

Patience, experience, practice, little tricks you'll pick up that work well for you. Basically what everyone else has said.

-Use immovable objects as a line to follow.
-Use cones or weapon holders on the floor to create a Line.
-Use the lines on foundry floor.
