What do u think makes a race map better? Quality: balanced looks good fun fair gameplay Quanity :lost of checkpoints and alot of turns and alot of everything diffuclty:difficult to complete
I choose d: None of the above. The best race maps are simple. So simple. Nothing flying in the air so when you fall off then you can't get back on. And only one checkpoint. If there is more then one, then only the person in first will score points, which is cheap.
Ooooo do i have the perfect race map for u then. ill post ittommarow after school or maybe when my paents fall asleep around 2. its a perfect 4 left turn map and its not on foundry,
Race maps are tricky. Simple ones are fun but also ones with jumps or a crazy corkscrew make it a map to remember
None of the options really fits my reasons..... First, I really love Warthog racing....so that is usually my vehicle of choice to base a map on. That being said: Second, By using the Warthog, you have lots of other "weapons" options that Mongoose racing usually throws out. So: Third, by using Warthogs and making kills and splatters a part of the game, you can do away with the need for "honor rules" and even a track in most cases...... I make mine using the VIP model.....but with either a random movement of goals to be hit (On Mumbai Express and an earlier Sandtrap map called "Warhog Wars" I did this by placing the goals in random places across the map...the "race" is the scramble to hit the goals *AND* kill your opponents as they try to do the same thing) or moving in sequence to define the track (I did this on Thunder Road by placing the goals in a large ring in the "mortar zone" of the map....a running team can hit several in sequence or a rival team can always aim ahead and take out the leaders and steal the goal point). I mean, let's face it.....some one is always not going to be into racing and just want to kill....by integrating this into the race, you can give both both types of players what they want. So...my vote is for "more killing" lol~ :squirrel_rubberduck:
you would like halo 1 raceing because ther is only warthogs i hate that they didnt have race in halo 2
i like difficult because you dont just hold the gas and your done you have to actually watch what your doing!
ok i tried this map an it was impossible for me to get past that elevated curve in the begining i only got 4 laps complete but still i like taht idea where you have to go through the whole map to get to the final checkpoint
I REALLY want to see a much longer version of Bungie 500 mixed with Mario Kart DD (As in, using equiment/weapons to slow your foes).
I prefer a mix of quality and difficulty. It's got to be challenging to complete the track but not impossible. RMNT Bassman, I'm currently thinking of making a Mario Kart Double Dash race track and will start with it ASAP, I hope I'll actually finish this map. ^^;;
the best are the more simplistic that have some well done tick bits. Loops are out of the question for any race map and so mostly are long jumps but a decent hairpin corner over a cliff if done well can be a very good piece. Remeber the best race maps arent flashy and mostly only have one or two little gimicky tricks to add excitement
I liked the bungie 500 but i think simplicity mixed with timed events could be interesting im throwing around a couple of ideas look out for some maps from me soon. If anyone is interested on testing or helping build hit me up.
It's definitely quality, maps with too much make it easy for people to cheat and usually have problems.
i think a good race map is wat you make it to be. i.e. if you want to resemble an offroad map then don worry about neatness, make it bumpy. But if your going towards a more proffesional raceway make it nice, but with added surprises.
I say quality because quantity it can get a little old with too many turns and u crashing all the time and difficulty can just get frusturating when no on can finish it.
