MLG Darkness Created By: lTz Adrenaline MLG Darkness is my version of Blackout, it's different from the original map but very fun to play on. This map has a couple different paths and walkways added on for better game play, and less falling to your death. Every object on the map is Geo merged into blackout to give it a smoother feel, all the interlocking and merging is neat and there's little to no bumps. I redid the spawns on the map so now one team spawns sniper tower and the other team spawns BR tower. The Library is not accessible neither is shotgun room. Over in library it is just a short hall instead. The shotgun room is blocked off neatly and i even made it so your able to strafe on top the stairs. This map took about a week to create, it is about a month old I just decided to post it to see what you guys thought of it. The map Supports: All MLG Game types. Team Slayer, FFA Slayer, Team Oddball, Oddball and KOTH. Have fun Enjoy! : ) The map contains: Drop Spawned Sniper x1 | 120 sec | 1 clip Battle Rifle x9 | 30 sec | 2 clips Covenant Carbine x2 | 30 sec | 2 clips Plasma Pistol x1 | 45 sec Mauler x1 | 60 sec | 1 clip Plasma Grenade x8 | 10 sec Fragmentation Grenade x6 | 10 sec Overshield x1 | 120 sec Screenshots: Overview of map ( Mancannons are aesthetics only used for call outs ) Right Side of Sniper Tower Right Wall of Library ( Carbine Spawn ) Another screenshot of the staircase in front of sniper tower The wrap around walkway behind Library ( Floating Mauler Spawn ) The Wrap around connecting to Library Elbow Underneath the Wrap around ( their is a drop down from mauler on the right and a lift that works perfect to get you back up to mauler on the left. ) Lift taking you back up to mauler spawn/ Wrap around. Library short hall leading up to Library Elbow ( You cannot get in library or throw a grenade/shoot. ) Top Red Lift Bottom Mid blocked off Neatly so grenades don't fly threw. Bottom Red Lift blocked off so you can strafe on the staircase. BR 3 Elbow Connecting to Overshield Spawn. Another screenshot of the Overshield tower Bottom BR and BR 2 Blocked off sides to reduce hiding in corners. Each side is equally fair cause one team spawns with Sniper the other team spawns with Overshield. Mauler is middle on the Wrap around, Plasma Pistol is close to bottom mid. The map plays well on all game types except for flag but I did not bother adding it. So download the map show your friend's, have fun and Enjoy! : ) That's my attempt at making an MLG Blackout map. Wow! When I saw the first pic I thought it was going to be terrible, especially because its on Blackout! But i stand corrected Everything is so original! Not to mention the excelent geomerging! The door wall w/ the custom would have to be my favorite. Then the sniper tower. What a great MLG map my friend, 5 star thread.
okay, this is amazing. the way that this map utilizes the few things blackout has to offer, and makes it into this is very creative and must have been difficult to make. I'd like to see this featured... 5.1/5
This looks pretty cool. I like how you used all of the object6s available on Blackout to create a whole new map. The only thing I don't like is the walls in the first picture. It may look nicer if they were more rounded or formed a neater arch.

I've never seen a map like this before. I like how you combined the existing map with a forged map to make something completely different. I will definitely download.
God dang this is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen any map on Blackout with geomerging before. Wow. I'm gonna have to say that mauler spawn area is probably my favorite thing you've added to the map. I'll definitely have to download this. I think I can see a feature coming up soon (hopefully) 5/5
this map is amazing, although it really shouldnt be called an mlg map, because arent there not supposed to be shield doors in mlg? and also arent mlg maps supposed to be symmetrical? Don't get me wrong, this map is amazing, the forging and geomerging is amazing, and it looks really fun to play on, great job *theres also not supposed to be overshields, just noticed that looking over it again.
this is incredible. lemme say it's nice to see a map on blackout these days so kudos for that. the map- wow. the amount of geomerging on blackout of all places is incredible this looks amazing. qued for DL
If you don't get a feature for this map then I don't know another map that does. You truly changed the geometry of blackout with this map. Adding many lifts and different platforms must have taken forever and I am so happy to see this. The way you blocked off certain areas is amazing as well. I love the way you blocked of the center using the doors. My favorite structure by far has to be the over-shield platform. Overall, this map is a 5/5 and a define download for me and many many others.
freaking awsome job dude. the merging is smexy, the geomerging pimptastic, and the flow of gameplay just blows my mind. this is definitely feature worthy. i never thought that you could influence the gameplay of blackout, the way you did, you really made it your own map. 5/5
This is amazing. Everything is perfectly placed and it utilizes as much of the map and its objects as it can. Not to mention that it is on blackout, which is one of the hardest maps to forge on. Don't doubt a feature on this, 5/5
finally, a way to play on the actual map.. and more.. this is beyond anything ive seen on a map that wasnt intended for forging. This is great. i hope i see more from you
Its a very nice map. Kinda seems like a Section add on to Blackout like it was created with the original map. I would suggest that you delete the 'rainbow' of walls (from the 1st pic) because it doesnt seem like it is needed and it is kinda an eyesore.....
Thanks for all the comments, the funny thing is I had this map done and finished for about two months, I just was bored and decided to post it up. But lets not get silly now I'm not sure if this could be featured. There is a couple bumps on the map that are impossible to get out without having to redo the whole structure. Also if I knew what I know now I could have made all the boxes one color but it won't matter to much cause it's dark in those areas. Also if you think this map has alot of Geo merging you haven't seen my avalanche map, mainly cause i didn't finish it yet but Thanks again for all the comments. -Dan @ mikelp: I'll make a v2 if this map gets enough hits and probably take that out or just make a completely different kind of structure there.
Dang at first when I saw the S2 picture I thought oh its a sloppy map. I looked at more of the pictures and you really went crazy on this map. DOWNLOADED! EDIT: I got the chance to download it and your map amazed all the other 7 people in my party. We will be running warm ups on your map for months.
this is a really great map. i had fun playing on it except for the parts that you added are way too dark, but i guess there is no way to fix that. you have good forge skills and i hope to see more from you. 4/5
This map is AMAZING. the merging and looks of this map are amazing. It has a great layout, my only complaint would be the OS is on one side only. Besides that, this map is GODLY, best MLG map I've ever seen 10/5 this map really needs a feature, hopefully it'll be updated alot because I'll be using this within my clan for sure!

Just popped this map into my download Queue, as with every night that I go map DL'ing this will be playtested thoroughly with my friends tomorrow. I absolutely love the concept and the clear amount of effort from the screenshots. I doubt this map will be letting me down. Alright I've played the map over and I love it. For the application of MLG it works out great and I really have no complaints. However my cousin and I with the help of a few friends remodified it for swat by removing the cover on the stairs at red lift, and removing the blocking for the library. It was loads of fun. Really my review says just what my preview said, I love it, so, much, fun. Thanks greatly for this wonderful map!
