I think it's quite strange that pretty much almost every game that interests me I'm curious to whether or not it will even be worth it to purchase it. I'll probably download the demos to the games or even rent them. I'm that unsure as to whether or not of buying them. I think Halo ODST and Dead rising 2 are the only games I'm 100% sure that I'll buy.

Otherwise games like Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, Prototype, UFC 2009 Undisputed, Need for Speed: Shift, Dead to Rights: Retribution, and Tekken 6 are games I know I'll have to try out before buying.

Halo 3: ODST is going to be Halo 3 with enhanced graphics (possibly), better gameplay (hopefully), and maybe better forge - don't quote me on that (doubtfully). Why is it so hyped up?

You clearly have no idea what Halo 3 ODST is then...

First and for-most, it is an expansion pack for Halo 3, you won't be able to play ODST without Halo 3. Second, this will cost around $30, and with that $30 you get 1 new campaign and gaming experience and every DLC map (including the three yet to be released with ODST). There might be more, but that is what I am certain of. Already, the maps alone are a $30 value ($10 for each pack, minus Heroic since it is free).

As for the gameplay itself, I read about it but it is really in the dark. Basically, after the destruction of New Mombasa in Halo 2 when Master Chief follows the covenant to the second Halo Ring, ODST drop pods rain down upon the destroyed city to claim it back. You play as one of these ODST troopers, but your squad is seperated. This is where it gets muddled, because from what I read it turns into a semi RPG/Mystery experience where you try and figure out how one of your team-mates died. That is what the article in Game Informer said, but that could have been an example of choices within the game. They say that is an open world-ish type gameplay, though I think things are divided into sections.

Again, even I don't know too much about it because information has been limited, but it is running off the Halo 3 engine, will bring nothing new to any existing feature of Halo 3 (like Forge), just offers a new campaign experience and new Multiplayer Maps.

Modern Warfare 2, Dead Rising 2, Bioshock 2, Halo 3: ODST, Assassin's Creed 2 are what I'm looking forward to. Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3: ODST, especially. And I'm picking up GH: Smash Hits for sure. I'm buying just about any GH they put out now ...

No. I have read that you will not need Halo 3 to play it. That would just be stupid. If you need Halo 3 to play it, why does it come with ALL of the maps on Halo 3. Its a stand alone expansion. Also, its selling as a retail game, so how would you put Halo 3, AND ODST in at once, lol. No retail stand alone expansion forces you to have the original game.

Then I am mistaken, last time I checked it was all 1 game. However, I don't think it has the default maps with it too? I read it came with all DLC, not Pre-DLC. Either way, I will be getting it and it's the last bit of Halo goodness from Bungie we'll get.

As for Red Faction Guerrilla, haven't played it yet but my friend says he loves the destruction. But don't you dare say "with games like COD around", because COD is **** and is ruining the expectations for FPS.

    And why is that?

Halo and CoD has the graphics, but doesn't hold a candle to what you can do in multiplayer with all the backpacks and destruction. Honestly I don't see why alot of people are getting off about the graphics, it looks good to me, and I don't expect a game with that much destruction to look like GTA4, so this is good for 360.

No it does not, as mentioned in the weekly updates following the ODST teaser Bungie stated that the multiplayer with be no different than that in Halo 3. ODST is said to include all the DLC map packs and cold storage as well as the three mythic maps we didn't get in April/ March 3.

Though they are two different discs ODST players can play the same multiplayer with those of the guys who didn't wish to buy it and are rocking out Halo 3. (btw; any skull related achievements related to those mythics will unlock on Halo's list)

The only new goodies to be seen in ODST are:

1: A newer single player experience
2: new mythic maps for MM
