Map Title: Thunderdome Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves. Description: Thunderdome, a map based on the arena in the cult movie classic, "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome," is ideal for free for all slayer. I created the map after getting tired of noobs saying they could beat me one-on-one and so I figured, "Hey, if you want to fight, lets fight. We're going to Thunderdome, two men enters, one man leaves as the victor and the outcome is final." Originally, it was meant to be just a 1-on-1 map; however, countless games have proven that the map is just ridculous with any number of people. The most I've ever had play it at once was 13... and it was nuts! The map also uses an abundance of gravity lifts and man cannons to help simulate the feel of the movie version of thunderdome. If you'll recall, Mel Gibson is tied to a bungie chord and is able to retrieve better weapons, the higher he goes up in Thunderdome. The same is true in this map. There are a variety of weapons on this map: Laser, Hammer, Maulers, Sniper, Needlers, BRs, ARs, SMGs, Pistols, Plasma Pistols, etc. All Gernades and all Equipment are also on the map. So the next time some moron insults your Halo 3 fighting prowess (or your mom, etc.,) and says they are better... challenge them to a game of Thunderdome. 2 Men Enter, 1 Man Leaves. The Flamethrower is located on the floating platform in the middle Burn Baby! Burn! Properly using Equipment can be a game changer in Thunderdome due to the close quarters combat... trip mines are hilarious... see below... The abundance of grav-lifts is an important part of the map and allows it to help recreate the feel of the Thunderdome from the movie. The better weapons, in this case the laser, are located on the highest points of the map. There are two man cannons that add a further sense of chaos to the map. They make wonderful escape routes in tight situations. It is not uncommon for equipment and grenades to float around the map from all the grav lifts. This trip mine will soon result in a Double Kill. Once in awhile, fusion cores will fall from the sky. So it is possible to be killed by the guardians on occasion. Anyways, we already had the original Bull Dome. And I had already tweaked Bull Dome early this year and came up with my version of The Dome v2.2 a few months ago, which I use for bull fight or ghostbusters games. Had to fix a temp hole on it about a month ago that I used to travel in and out of the dome that others started to notice, so I plugged it up to stop the temptation of getting out. holy crap, dude, ass much? Maybe he isnt a forging genius, god forbid someone posts a map without interlocking that might still be fun for gameplay. So what if its already been made, but better? If he wants a crack at it, he can take one. So you my good sir, make me sick. Your post showed 5% effort in your brain activity. 5% out of 100%.
Thank you Bloodthirst, I appreciate that. As you said: I am no forging whiz by any means. With that said, just because the map does not look pretty does not mean that it does not serve its purpose. My friends and I have been enjoying this map for months because the map suits the gameplay were are seeking to perfection. I wanted chaos and this map brings that into the fold. Sure, there are prettier domes, arenas, etc... but none of them fit the certain gameplay experience I was looking for. Certainly, the naysayer is obviously too incompetent to realize this... what a fool.
My mother always said to me "never wade into a fight you didn't start"...but then again I never listened to my mother. This map-type has been done before, and probably to better effect. However as I disregard this to look at the map before me, I see a dimond in the rough. The map isn't geoed or entirely interlocked, which detracts from it in an asthetic perspective, but I can still see that you attempted to interlock it where I was necessary (e.g. the door floor levels and some walls). The placment of the grav-lifts and man cannons is impressive, you seemed to have put some thought into how to best shoot people around. The weapon placement is pretty good, but If you could make some of the weapons harder to reach it could help. Final Word: This map type has been done before, as i stated, however this creator has done what he promised, no more and no less. I would ask you to imagine what it is like as a new-forger, and remember the guts you needed to post your first map. What would you have done if a senior memeber, a respected person from the fraternity you were trying to become apart of, absolutly trashed your map stating calling you "sad" and saying "a dog with no legs can make this thing you call a map". Please try and remeber that feeling before you attempt to destroy the hope of a young forger agian.
This is why I don't forge, because I can't, and this is why the creator of this map should also stop forging. And I am a Senior Member myself, and I've been here for nearly a year. You sir are in no position to insult me, because I did not insult the creator of the map, I insulted the effort he put into this "thing" instead of wasting 2 hours (Or less) to make a map he should have looked around Forgehub, looked at the maps here and what is expected here, then look at his map and fix it. He failed to do that, and I am bashing at him for this lack of comprehension, and effort.
