    Temples of Lava

    Description: Temples of Lava is a two base competitive map. To get to the other base you either go up top across the lava river or under in the tunnel system.The Map plays with Capture the Flag, all Assault games, and Team slayer.

    Weapons:

    *2 Bubble shields
    *1 Rocket, you have to throw the bubble shields in the lava river to fall down in the crypt to get the rockets =)
    *8 Plasma grenades
    *6 Battle rifles
    *2 Carbines
    *2 Power drainers
    *2 Gravity hammers
    *2 Needlers
    *2 Brute shots

    I would recommend taking the filters off to reduce eye strain. It's hard to really focus and when you're near the kill balls it's nearly blinding.

    it isnt really when your near the kill balls that your eyes will explode-unless your going for rockets-it is when you are in the bases camping the flag or something

    Although I thought the map could have been a bit cleaner, the overall product was very good. I like the lava theme, and how you used the killball, it's original. The overall floorplan is nice, and I love how you need to use the bubble shield to get the rockets, that hasn't been incoorporated in a competitive before. Nice job, worth a dl.

    EDIT: I think it would make sense to have the filters on, because it looks more lava-ish that way, it's bright and hard to see.

    Ya and without the filter you could see that some of the objects glitched different colors so the filter covers that up a little bit

    Well I definitely love the lava theme. And the little grassy area where the bubble shields are.

    Just one question, you have to throw a bubble shield into the "lava" to get to the teleporter node? And if so, where does it take you when you go through the nodes in the crypt?

    you throw the bubble shield in to the river and then you have to fall down the hole to the crypt and then you go threw tele and it takes you to one of the grass areas

    Cool looking map, love the lava and the pointy bases. I also like the creative use of a bubble shield to access a secret area. Nice job it just could be a bit bigger.

    the only way that i'd be able to make it bigger would be if i got rid of the tunnel system

    constructive criticism would be very helpful

    This map looks quite good but I can't really tell what the layout is from the pictures. I'm going to download it and give it a closer look cause it looks pretty interesting.

    Ya it is just basically one base courtyard river courtyard other base, along with tunnels

    Ok well now that seems to work alot better than I thought it did. I can't wait until tomorrow when I try this with some friends and surprise them with the rocket, and then have them wondering where the heck I got it from. =]

    Edit: You should probably edit you OP explaining the whole "rocket system" better.

    Alright well I actually got a chance to test it today and I got some more constructive criticism:

    Having 2 hammers seemed to be a bit too much for a map that size, I would probably have put a hammer in place of one of the power drains in the tunnels, and put a regen (I really think there should be atleast 1 on that map) or maby a spiker in its place.

    I also found it played a bit better when the middle row of columns in each base was removed, so you could actually shoot from the carbine spawn The bottom column made it so you couldn't shoot on your half of the map, only the other teams half, but the columns on the grassy area provided plenty of cover.

    Not exactly neccesary but just something to think about for a V2. Everything else about the map I love, especially the rocket (but I had to practice a few times before I got the hang of it).

    the only problems i have with putting grav hammers in tunnels is that it would provoke camping and if you had a regen you could camp with hammer
