Blackheart is a small enclosed map recomended for 1v1/2v2. Its design consists of 2 floors, both with a circular tunnel system. The reason I'm not posting yet is because I need more testing. I've already done a 1v1 match and it wasn't bad at all. Another reason is because this map is a looot of firsts for me, like my first enclosed map, my first 1v1/2v2 map, and it's my first map on sandbox that I completed. I could use some advice or constructive criticism on certian things. One thing I'm debating on is whether or not to keep the sword on sucha small map. I'm wondering if the sword (along with the sniper, which is staying btw) is to overpowered on such a small map. looks very nice and clean. Gives me kinda the feel of some foundry maps. Clean interlocking aswell. I would take the sword off and put a mauler on personally, that's mainly because mauler takes either two hits, or 1 hit and a beat down to kill instead of just one hit with the sword.
from what i can tell of the pictures for an enclosed map it is pretty big, open enough so that someone with a sword can't just camp the whole time and get kills from around corners. I'd say leave the Sniper and Sword so long as the ways to get to the 2 make them even for both players/ teams. By the looks of it the sniper can easily take out the sword but with the element of surprise the sword would win against the sniper.
Would you please estimate about how much lateral space the map takes up on the Crypt? I should be able to help you better once I have a rough size estimate for the map. Also, about what would you say is the ratio of closed areas/hallways to open spaces on the map?
Thnx ykno i always apreciate constructive criticism (sarcasm btw). Oh and almost everything is iterlocked. It takes up about a corner haha. Pretty small
Alright, I would propose one of two things, either of which you may have already done. Either 1) place the sniper and the sword very far away form each other (relatively) so that when you are killed near sword you should be able to beat the sword player to the sniper when you respawn or 2) make the sword and sniper respawn times hideously long. This will cause them to be used more conservatively as they will not be readily accessible again for a long period of time. Please note: these suggestions are in addition to the above suggestions, but I do not believe I can offer truly effective or beneficial advice without having played the map myself.
And im the one who keeps getting infractions ha. Any way i said keep the sword like i said the area's seem to be open enough that it will be balanced most of the time, that one pic where the br spawns, hmm i bet sword would wreck shop there.
Both suggestions have been done. But thnx anyway haha. You wanna link? Haha damn that sucks. Ok ok. And btw the sword can be pretty cheap there as long as the enemy doesn't spawn on the 2nd floor haha.
Honestly, I would appreciate that very much. I am afraid though that I may not be able to play the map and look through it thoroughly until Wednesday or Thursday, but I will do my best. My gamertag is Cerberus Beast, should you want to send me a friend request before sending me the map.
yea haha i get in trouble on here. but anyway yea if you wouldn't mind sending me a linky also?? I have people to 1v1 and then we could just see how fair it is lol.
Okay i ran some 1v1's and it worked out like this, It was easy for one player to only have either A. sniper only or B. sword only they never managed to get both. On the bottom floor the sword didn't fare too awfully well, and even upstairs i didn't get killed that much. So overall for me its good to keep both of them.
I actually agree with CaptnSTFU on most of his points. I showed the map to AceOfSpades0707 as well and we both thought it had some good ideas in it (namely the fact that it was an indoor map that wasn't made entirely of tunnel pieces and the like). Good map though overall
haha... look at my PM if you haven't already. When Cerberus Beast showed me this I was pretty impressed. I have never been very good at small, indoor maps. I never got a game going but the forgethrough left me me wanting to.
Aight well thnx for the reviews. I'm going to release the map soon after a few tweaks and I've decided that the sword is going to stay.
Switch the sword out for camo in my opinion. Camo on suck a closed quarters map like this wont be impossible to notice and hopefully if this map has as many alternate pathways as I hope it should provide some sneaky plays to get behind an enemy's set up.
