I honestly would do this if the actual map was what bothered me most, but its the ridiculous double standard that Bungie has that is truly upsetting. When a map goes through Atlas it is tested multiple times, by the creator, others in Atlas, and then internal testing at Bungie. Shishka criticizes little things, that while perhaps making the map play a little better, are not always major problems. Then comes Cubed. A map that could not have been playtested ever. 30 second respawn on the OS, shotgun, mauler, and hammer in addition to an abundance of grenades spawning next to shield doors? This map screams untested garbage.

As for the layout, it is a decent idea. I think that Smashed was a decent layout. I proposed simple fixes for that map, along with Vessel. But this map was obviously untested, and it is just upsetting that Bungie is so lenient with maps they create themselves, but is so strict with community maps. The lack of community created maps in matchmaking can hardly be because it would ruin the integrity of matchmaking if maps like Cubed are already there. I cannot understand why Bungie would exclude good maps, while allowing untested garbage like Cubed into matchmaking.

I very much appreciate your reply Dozer5274. I feel as well that Bungie has a somewhat warped mentality about which forged maps should go into MM and which ones should not. As the situation stands, I believe we have to fix the maps that are already in Matchmaking, then move on to try to get maps that are supported by a large majority of the community into Matchmaking. Once that level of interaction and understanding has been reached, then i believe that Bungie will begin to fill in what we believe are the gaps in their process and mentality. We have to do things step by step if we want change. After all, we can use our communal influence to try to accomplish something, as long as we do so in a courteous and united fashion.

I could not have said it better myself, and indeed I sort of tried on the first page to say just this. It is the fact that this map has glaring flaws that should have been noticed after just one test game that bothers me, while maps submitted through atlas are required to have three films before Bungie themselves will even look at it.

Nothing good can come of this discussion, so I'm going to go ahead and lock. As with all maps in bungie's matchmaking hopper, express your thoughts with the X button in the lobby.
