I have figured out how to do this and I will list in these 10 simple steps:

    1. Spawn a large block and put two wall doubles on adjacent sides of the box to mark its placement. Set the block's respawn time to 180 and place at start to no.

    2. Spawn a block tall and lay it flat so it fits in the corner you formed with the two double walls that marked the spot of the block double. Stack walls flat on top of the block tall until the stack is about two walls away from the top of the wall doubles. Then put a block large on top of the stack. Delete the entire stack except for the block so that it is floating above the ground.

    3. Force spawn the block double (by changing the block's run time minimum to the run time maximum and then reset the run time minimum) and set its place at start to yes. and make sure that it is completely aligned with the block. Put teleporters around the block large so that it can't shift around when you geo merge it.

    4. Grab the lower block large and immediately save the map and quit.

    5. When you start the map again the block large should be in the ground a little. Delete all the teleporters and the block above it and put two wall doubles on adjacent sides of the blocks like you did in step 1. Set the block's place at start to no.

    6. Place a wall flat where there block is but a little off so that it extends out from under the block. Force spawn the block and reset the run time minimum then grab the wall and save changes immediately quit right after.

    7. Restart the map and then force spawn the block and reset the run time minimum. Grab the block so that it comes up from the ground. Start a new round and put a grav lift on the spot where the block was. Force spawn the block and keep it force spawned. Start a new round and remove the block from on top of the grav lift, if the grav lift looks geo merged, as in you can see the flame but not the base, then put the block back on top of the grav lift and you are ready to proceed. If you can't see the grav lift at all then you may have to redo every thing because the wall may not have stayed under the map.

    8. Now you need to get under the map. To do this, spawn a double block. Set the double block's respawn time to 20 and place at start to no. Surround the block double completely with other block doubles except for part of the top. Start a new round and put a teleporter receiver node into the spot where the main double block was and cover up the the rest of the block double. Spawn a sender node out side of the structure you just made and start a new round.

    9. Fly into the sender node and go out of forge mode. Look forward and wait for a black square to spawn. This is the indication that you are inside the double box. Move around a little and when you go under the map go into forge mode. Fly over to the wall you put under the map with the grav lift on it. Grab the grav lift so that it will automatically respawn on top of the wall.

    10. Start a new round and delete all the unneeded stuff, like the structure you made to get under the map the block and the two wall doubles. Now you have a geo merged grav lift that is indestructable.

    Have fun!

Sounds cool, but a vid would be nice. I know how to do it on Foundry, but I got a little confused. It would probably make more sense if I was in forge at the time.

...if you really wanted a grav lift to be indestructible, you could just set it to instant respawn.
I can see where this might be useful, such as when you want one grav lift to be destructible and another not be, but it seems like a mancannon would just be a lot less hassle to work with in that case.

Why are there so many threads about geomerging stuff on Sandbox. It is OLD news. Before the Doors on Foundry everyone did what they are supposed to do on Sandbox. I don't think people get that a door was just an object that "lazy" interlocked itself. The same can be done on Sandbox and none of this is new. Read forging 101 for once people and just substitute the doors for actual work.

ramps wide have the same effects as a door you know, im not flamming this it helps but i mostly use insta respawn for them. oh btw man cannon's are too powerful unless you put something over them to force the player down.

Spawn box. Set to No. Restart. Make Wall in place of Box. Spawn Box again. Grab Wall which sticks out, Save when it is under. Start again. Do same for Grav Lift, but saving isn't needed.

    >.>

(grav lift lands on wall under floor)
(if needed, push self undef floor to lower wall more)

Didn't need a big long post for something simple and old.

    This thread is basically useless,
Just use the same method on Foundry, as in Sandbox, you get under the map, drag your item under, save quit, then do the same with grav lift.

Yes, IT WORKS IN TE DUNES TOO

Geomerging grav lifts can have an aesthetic aspect to it, like when some guy doesn't want ugly purple grav lift base thingies sticking out of the ground, and it just looks ugly with the rest of the map. Or something. That's how I would feel.
