My main is IKE, I like his power. And he probably is the fastest character who is in the Heavy Class. =]
ive always used mario on ssbm cause his c stick pwns all. ppl would say why do u pick mario he sucks but in the end i am triumphant. i havent plaed braw but i am sure i will still pick mario
Bowser and Kind DDD are soooo much faster than ike Xanon Mario is a really fun character, his back air is AMAZING He's also alot better than he was in melee =D
nvm, now I use Toon Link and R.O.B. Opo could attest. R.O.B. must have the best recovery in the game.
Well yea, but than they balance it by making him refuel his up-B move. it only last like 1 sec though. But still you can run out of fuel in mid-air if you're not aware. And I totally disagree, Bowser may be faster, but Dedede? cmon now...
They also nerfect Captain Falcon a bit too, and I am disappointed. I still own with him like I did in the 64 days. I'm not a Melee'r, so I don't like people like Marth. I either go old school or the newest guys. I think all characters can do fine if they are used properly (I used to be able to own with Yoshi). Captain Falcon will always be my boy, and the other one I gave the nod to is Meta Knight because he is so damn cool, and he can combo people all day. He is a great team player because he racks up damage, but his only weakness is he doesn't have many KO's. Him paired with Capt. Falc., Ike, Ganondorf, Dedede, or any other power player. I also like Zero Suit Samus, Wolf, Sonic, Ganondorf, Pit, and my secret weapon, Peach. Me not playing since 64 Smash puts me behind the curve, so I am not very good yet. But, I am unstoppable on 64.
yea i hear ya texas, i can still own people on the n64 but no one seems to care about true skill anymore...
I chose Falco and Captain Falcon because they were the hard characters and i wanted to master them and also i think it goes well with my name. I also really enjoy playing Ike
It's true, C-stick and stuff really ruined the fun in the game. N64 version ruled because it was nice and simple fights, what is it, 12 characters? Like 8 stages? It was nice only having to make a few decisions about things. But now the 20-ish characters and 30+ built-in stages makes it waay more complicated than it has to be. Speaking of reminiscing, my all-time favorite character has to be Kirby. Ever since the 64 he's been the stongest quick player (with the exception of brawl). But he's great for high level AI since if you jump, they follow and all you have to do is brick (makes 100-man brawl/15-minute brawl super easy), although he's not my favorite character to have fun on. I really think Peach is most enjoyable, she has really fun moves. It's easy to 'hobo' around using her gliding and umbrella to maneuver around the stage, plus she has pretty powerful smash moves and can take a lot of damage, plus her final smash is pretty fun.
I heard they have 35 characters (I haven't counted). But, I actually like all the choices, but I still think the first was better. I like the selection for maps and characters, but I don't like how complicated the fights are (items, assist trophies, and final smashes).
It's pretty complicated, the rush for final smashes is like the rush for the hammer in N64; everyone rushes to get it, then flees in fear if they don't. Plus they added way more map interaction, which makes the battles less to do with fighting abilities and more to do with being able to avoid the environment. Plus scrolling levels are the suck.
Well I don't know how much you knew about melee, but they made this game MUCH eaiser for newer players. Melee was an incredibly deep game. Brawl is also very slow compared to Melee, buy imo I have wayy much more fun in Brawl. Here's an example of melee's speed:
I have played Melee a few times, and the games do keep getting more fun. But, they just aren't the same as the first one and the same goes for the first Mario Kart. They can't be matched in replay value. I like all the items that complicate the game, but they just take away from the fight itself. Because, you are more concentrated on finding an item on the cluttered map or avoiding the map's hazards than you are on your opponent. They add excitement to the game, but it will never be the same as playing 2v2 on Fox's level with no interference. Despite the lacking graphics and the dullness of it, I have the most fun playing on the Fox's melee stage with most items turned off. I will admit that the new characters are sweet, and the adventure mode was awesome, especially the cut scenes.
I havnt played all the characters, But Kirby's been my right0handed man, my widow maker since Melee. (Never played any older version) I also played as Meta Knight and Pit, which I love both because there are both sick in the own way. And a odd one I like using is olimar, I used him only once in a solo tourney, but he was awesome, the only con for him his he requires atleast 1 pikimon to do any real dmg.
