My question is is it ok (legal, ethical.. whatever) to "coin" a term that came from a book? My example: The word "Kumbric". It is the name of the legendary and mysterious witch from the book "Wicked". She is The Kumbric Witch. And i love the word Kumbric.. I take its meaning as "tribal". But i know that since books are copyrighted.. at what point does it become illegal to use the word? (if at all, i have absolutely no knowledge) This is just an interesting question i was thinking about recently. if i could get thoughts or facts on it that would be nice.
**** the police. Edit: I just realized how you can disgustingly twist that word. Kumbric Kum-Bric ***-Brick Urban Dictionary - Cumbrick (Latin- Kumbric) To ejaculate an enormous amount of semen. "Last night when I was watching a porno, I realized the floor was soaked from the cumbrick I had."
that was extremely messed up but... you can say the word, and use the word at will unless it has been trademarked/copyrighted by a company. If it has, you would need to say something like "As copyrighted by the book, Wicked."
