I love you man, is probably one of the best bromance comedys of the year, if not all time.

Great movie, with tons of shits and giggles, worth a watch by anybody, except old people.. and maybe kids. They would hate it.

    this is a nice idea.
alright if anyone fancies some blood or night in with some action.
then watch Dommsday, not the best film but bloody hell has it got action scenes.
essentially its about scotland but it has been quarantined due to disease.
    pick it up. :)

    Primer

The coolest movie I've seen in a long time is called Primer. It's about two engineers that discover and build a rudimentary time machine in their garage. This movie deals with the subject of time travel expertly, from a logical, scientific standpoint and fleshes out all of the implications and paradoxes that come with it. There are no huge special effects and I'm imagining the budget was pretty small, but they make up for it with incredible dialog and genuine performances.

This is a movie that you can watch 20 times and still pick up new information from each viewing. Check this one out if you like time travel.

You don't mest with the Zohan, is probably the best of comedies in 2008.

Almost all of the action, ends up being comedy in this film, I would recommend it to everyone, except under 10s.

Primer was made on a budget of like $7k and the director (the blonde main character) is a freakishly smart dude.

    Sticky this?

A movie that isn't really popular yet is amazing is the movie Facing the Giants. I highly recommend you guys watch it. It's religious, but still.
Just for the record, it's about football.

I know that this is old, but White Chicks is one of the best comedies of all time IMO. Endless laughter.

Oh, also the Rush Hour series was excellent. LOL.

Harold & Kumar 2 is nothing special, no where near as good as the original. Though it's still amusing, the jokes just seemed to be done for the sake of it.

I'm craving to watch Apocalypse Now and In Bruges agan, you're right sarge.

I Am Legend. Kept me on the edge of the couch the whole time, and my heart beating rapidly. Although it had Will Smith being portrayed a Jeez0rz, it was still a pretty fickin' good movie.

    Least Favorite

My three least favorite movies have been mentioned on this post as excellent flicks. The movies: Meet the Zohan, White Chicks, and The Rush Hour Series could be used to torture suspected terrorists. They are among the worst movies ever made. I know that taste is taste, but seriously.....they would be on my worst movies of all time list.

I disagree, the worst movies as of late are the movies made by the guys who made Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, etc.
I watched Meet the Spartans the other night(not by choice), it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was still horrendous.

I've just seen Yes Man with Jim Carry and surprisingly it was more funny then I thought. I usually don't laugh aloud during movies, mostly smirk, but Yes Man was very a good movie and the situations were hilarious. I recommend it to everyone in for a good laugh.

    QFT

Anyway, I started watching Primer the other day (have not had the time to finish it yet, but I will probably start from the beginning) and I have to say wow. It's not a particularly fast paced film, but if you try and keep up with all the dialogue and scientific terms it definitely can feel like it has the same amount of intensity as an action flick. I also really enjoy the logic behind this film, how time travel works. It is such a simple idea but to grasp it in it's entirety can really blow your mind.

As for films I have seen of late, I'll provide a few. The first is Adventures of Power, a film written and directed by Ari Gold, staring Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase of Entourage). Now, this is a small budget indy-flick (a couple million dollars... ) about air-drumming. I saw it at the local film festival, and going into it I did not know what to expect. It sounded like an incredibly stupid comedy, where I'll laugh but question why I am laughing. But I have to honestly say I loved this film. It has a great mood and tone to it, and the humor is quite genius at times, even playing on the smarter side occaisonally. I foresee this movie being picked up in the future and shown in theaters, to then have teens obsess over it like Napolean Dynamite, leaving me standing there saying how I had seen it before all of them. Here is the trailer:

The next is a collection of movies by Guy Ritchie, the quite famous British director who was going out with Madonna. Now, for some reason I had never seen any of his brilliant English Crime movies, so about a month ago I saw Snatch for the first time. I saw it twice more the following two days. Then, in the past several weeks I have gotten around to seeing Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and RocknRolla. Lock Stock was Guy Ritchie's first and breakthrough film, featuring a humor that set his style, finding the comedy in the dirt and grime of organized crime (or in Ritchie's case, disorganized crime). Lock Stock features some of my favorite lines of all time, and one of the most outlandish climaxes and resoltions I had seen yet for a film of it's genre.

Rocknrolla on the other hand, felt different than previous Guy Ritchie films. It still had the same McGriffin type plot, and the same far-fetched scenerios, but overall it was a new experience. If I had to describe what set it apart from Snatch and Lock Stock, I would have to say it felt a bit more mature. I use that term, of course, in style and technique because the film is just as twisted as the others. It also featured more intense dialogue, that while not necessarilly quoteable, was still very well written. Now, these films have really inspired me, for I have always imagined myself have a similar film style to that of Ritchie's, but now that I see his work it has really motivated me. Here are the trailers to all three films (there is a fourth, but is a drama and I don't know the name):
