So, lately there's been much talk of campaign remakes. I've had an idea of remaking a specific part, but never got 'round to doing it. Here it is: I'm not intending on making an -exact- remake. My version will probably feature more walkways, and obviously weapons and equipment. This is where a sniper could be, or close to it at least. I'd make that door open to have more space to work with. I would/could make a walkway to the back out of this. I'd probably place a hornet (maybe without missiles) here, since I got there using one. If anyone has any bright ideas on things I should definately do, tell me. I'm currently working on some other maps, so I won't do this immediatly, which gives you (and me) plenty of time to come up with ideas. Any opinions? Ideas? EDIT: I thought I'd update with the progress so far. Due to the slight lack of accurate feedback (I got some, but not enough) for a V2 of my map, I continued (just a wee tiny little bit) on the map today. So far, this is what I have. The Banshee is subject to change, like, into a Hornet - transport or otherwise. I build a double block's distance off the grid, so that when you fall, the fall's a little longer.
Haha yay Im the guy that started the campaign remake thing and I say go for it! You could make a tower defence game thatd be sweet!
Well, yeah, I can't see what map else. Maybe Avalanche for aestethics, but I don't have Legendary. I like your thinking... A lot. Haha, I know Yeah, I think I'm going to do just that.
I was going to do something similar to this, based on the hornet sequence with two of these towers as bases. However, mine would be very simplistic. It would be cool to see a small map like this.
I'd love for something like this to be remade illuminating on such an artistic feature of campaign would definitely be worthwhile, and a lot of fun, especially something that Bungie show's their true architectural side. I see you have accurate screen shots, and a rough draft of what you'll be doing, which is great. Seeing the multiple levels it contains, playing on this will create imaginative game play, especially since you're aiding players with a Hornet. When rendering it out, try not to make a identical rendition. Add your own touch, along with new levels and structures, as long as they promote to game play, and players standards. But doing so does not require major structure changes, and unreliable construction. I can't suggest the proper tier of Sandbox to position this, for it's pretty large. The Crypt's walls may become irrational, and the middle tier will have an empty floor with nothing to do. So, the plausible location would be the sky box, just hopefully you can condense the structure into one that will fit inside the confines of the elastic barriers. It's obvious this will be a Big Team Battle map, or at least satisfying large teams, like 5v5 and so on. Anyway, I'd really love for you to make this, and I'll be glad to help if needed. My Gamertag is Playerhata27, and I'll be on anytime you need me.
This is a great idea. I would definately download this if you were to make it. If you actually pull this off it would be an amazing feet. The only problem i would think that could exist is the cliff side. It would take up a lot of objects and take away from the actual map itself. In my opinion i think you should go for it and don't do it yourself, have a few friends help. Here's my gamertag: Manoukian1414 (same as my username)
I like the idea, but I don't know if you would be able to do it within the object limit. You might have to restrict productions by keeping the mentioned door closed, and not adding the island/attacker part that was suggested. Though they were both things that could've been positive additions, bungie's forge restrictions prove once again to dissapoint us
I think I'll leave the island out. I'm going to keep the open-door idea, though the part behind the door would be fairly small. I started working on this just today (my other map can *..* itself, a part screwed up bad and I'm not in the mood to fix it yet.) and ideas started flowing. I pretty much know what I'll do with it - I just hope it won't screw up 'cause I didn't pre-plan it in Sketchup. Don't know what I'll name it yet...
youll be able to do this no problem, just take your time and use objects sparingly. id really like to see this attempted.
Ok, I've worked on this a while ago, and then dropped it because of the amount of work I had to do for school. I'm going to continue it soon-ish, but looking at the map again, I'm going to re-do some of the parts I already did first. (I used ramps, but flipped them upside down for Aesthetic touches. Doesn't look as nice as I hoped. But maybe if I put more work into it, it might. We'll see.) PS: Soon = In a few days, but not often. Little parts at a time. Exams are coming up soon, and I haven't quite worked enough to keep up with all the subject matter. :/ Preview pics might come somewhere late this week, but don't count on them.
Smart remake. I love this part of The Covenant. If you were to make an epic team slayer game, I would also try to remake the tunnel and maybe another structure at the opposite end. Also you could have hornets on each side? Good luck!
I was making a remake of that one high charity place on cortana but when i finished it i accedently deleted it ( i was making the description)

I like how you didn't build right on the grid. It takes extra effort, but it is worth it and shows that you are taking your time.
Sounds like a very good idea, but isn't the map Citadel that Bungie is making for the 2nd part of the mythic maps going to be exactly like this?
It is? I thought it was a remake of that.. City with Warthog commercial in Halo 2. With the broken road and stuff. EDIT: Headlong. Just read the Halo Wiki page, though, and they're talking about forerunner stuff indeed. Though I doubt the map will be based on this structure, and seeing as I can't copy the texture, it won't be the same experience. After all, I'll be adding some new walkways, and placing my own weapon layout.
Looks like a great idea, and I'd honestly love to see remakes of more campaign locations, perhaps obviously with modifications to adapt more skillfully to multiplayer.
