Mythic DLC Crypt + Skybase

    An Overview

    Crypt, as displayed, is a single base map with a team orientation. plenty of cover and hiding spots for the attackers to help them strike with the element of surprise and plenty of cover inside the base make for a tense battle for the flag or bomb or which ever gametype you play the map on.

    The Great Divide

    Skybase is a huge 6-8 man team gamebased on Aerial Combat and Teamwork. bases are symmetrical and face each other over a massive distance. wepon rollout is heavy, rockets, spartan lasers and sniper rifles to help support the hornets as they cross the dark skies into the enemy base. lighting is low to help aid vehicles, as if it was lighter, the vehicles would be too easy to shoot down. the map supports slayer, CTF and assault.

    this looks a little to dark and you may want to change that if you want good gameplay, but the map looks ok, just take off the effects

    The map looks great.But I suspect it will have some vision problems.The idea of the map is very origninal.I like that.The map flows greatly,and I think the structures are pretty high class.I think you could lay off the effects though to my advice.I think the map is very well put together in my view of thisAwsome job by you.

    thanks for the good feedback :) ive had a few grumbles about the lighting, but i play them fine with no problems at all where vision is concerned (and not just because i know the layout lol)
    the reason for crypts darker lighting is that it was originally an infection map, and had a darker atmosphere to it, and i kept it faithful to its roots.
    the deep shadows add an element of surprise to the conflict, if you know how to stealth theyre your best friend. and it adds to the "its underground so it'll be dark" feel, i tried the normal lighting and it felt unrealistic for the design.

    skybases darkness comes from the idea of a nighttime dogfight i had while creating the map. plus, as i stated in the OP. its to help the aircraft attack, because think about the map in normal lighting and imagine yourself with a laser trained on a hornet taking off, now imagine it in the dark and the hornet strafes because he sees the giuding beam, hes out of your scope in the dark and you cant re-target him. it adds tension to the game, and it makes it more "omg WTF was that? lol" instead of "omg your a laser noob" (sorry to use the n word but it happens alot)

    I think the 'nighttime battle' idea is very original, and it will add a nice feeling to the map. It seems to me that the map is in space, and two ships are deploying aircraft to combat each other.

    wow thanks guys
    your idea about space battles is pretty cool, seen as it takes ages for the bodies and debris of fallen aircraft to hit the floor lol

    i made a sky base style map but it was just 2 double walls as the bases :p but mine had a small bit in the middle for neutral assult. they look good and im going to delete my map and replace it with yours (Y)

    This map looks like it would belong better in the casual map category. Most competitive maps don't involve multi-levels, giving the fact that one team may have a better advantage over another. Other then that the bases look good and pretty original.
