Hi there. I'm a rooki forger who's looking for some feedback on my maps. This is the first map I have ever forged and I made it right before the Mythic DLC came out. nfortunately, it hasn't gotten and views because of the new sandbox. I'd like some of you veterens out there, to check out my map and see what could be improved for this map and other maps I may make. I haven't used any advanced techniques suh as Geomerging and other things like that as I hadn't learned about them at the time. But overall, my friends think the map is pretty fun. Please check it out. Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
This is not up 2 forgehub starndards. Pics, bucko. Go to this website: Halo Screen Shots and type in your gamertag. Then when it loads, click what picture you want, copy the BB code at the bottom under the pic, and paste in in the thread when you edit. Then wallah! Pictures! i hope this helped.
Sorry about the whole picture thing. I missed the "have to be embedded" part. Nevertheless, my post has been edited.
As been stated before, this post is not up to forgehub standards. All map posts must have at least one embedded screenshot. RULES Click the spoiler button below to learn how V Spoiler Embedding Screenshots in your Map Thread Part 1: Taking a screenshot Sorry, no pictures for this section, don't have a capture card, but it is soo easy, I shouldn't need to explain, but I will. 1. After recently playing your map, go to "Theater Mode". 2. Select the match you played, and "Start Film". 3. Press "Y" after film has started, and pause the game (or not), and position your camera. 4. Click the camera symbol on the navigation bar. 5. Save it. Part 2: Getting your screenshot from Bungie.net 1. Open up your Internet Browser (I use Firefox) and go to our dearly beloved Bungie.net, and go to My Stats/Find a Player. 2. Then, go to the right of the screen, to "People Finder". Make sure that it is set to Halo 3, and type in your Xbox-Live Gamer tag. Then click "Search". 3. You should then being on your Gamer Tag profile. Click "Hi-Res screenshots". 4. Find the Screenshot you wish to embed, and click on it. Also, make sure pop-ups are allowed from Bungie.net. 5. A large version of the screenshot should come up in a separate window. Again, click the screenshot. 6. This should come up, asking you what program to open the screenshot with, or to save it to disk. For simplicities sake, just check off "Save to Disk" and the click "OK". 7. Depending what your preferences are, the picture could be saved to a number of places, if you are using Firefox, then this should come up. Click "Open" on the top one, which is more than likely the screenshot you are looking for. 8. An image viewing program displaying the screenshot should come up. Click the save option, in this case a floppy disk icon. 9.Save your image as a JPEG file, under a folder and name you can find later. Type the name in and click "Save". 10. Congrats, now you have your screenshot on your computer. Now onto: Part 3: Signing up for a Photobucket account, and uploading your screenshot to the internet. 1. Start by opening your internet browser, and going to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket. Why Photobucket? Cause I find that Imageshack is a pain and people seem to get nothing but thumbnail pictures from it, if they do try to embed their screenshots. Once there, click "Join Now" cause IT'S FREE! 2. Type in a username, and a password that you can remember. Then click "Next Step". 3. Now fill the form out, when you are done, click "I accept. Sign me up!" Note that none of that information is true to me. That is not my name, or birthdate, or anything. 4. Follow instructions from there. 5.Go to Login on Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket, type in your username and password, and then click "Login". 6. You should now be in your album. Find the section in the middle of the screen like the one below, and click "Choose Files", and make sure the size is set to 640x480. 7. An "Open File" window comes up. Now find your screenshot where you saved it, click on it, and then click "Open". Note that you can select more than one image before click "Open" by clicking your first image, and then (while holding down the SHIFT key) click on the other images you wish to add. 8. Give it time to save the screenshot on the internet. Click "Cancel" to stop uploading. 9. When it is done, this screen will come up. Give it a title and a description, or just skip that, and click "save and continue". 10. And now your screenshot is on the internet, ready to be embedded. Part 4: Embed your image in your post. 1. Go to your "my albums" on your photobucket page, which is located in the top navigation bar. Then, scroll down the page until you find your screenshot. 2. Click on the text in the space next to "IMG Code". This will automatically copy that link to your clipboard. 3. Go to post your Map Thread, and right click/Paste the IMG code (an image code is the direct link url of an image, in between [./img], but without the ".")[/SIZE] [SIZE=3][IMG]http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/onlykaproductions/embed6.jpg 4. Yay! Well, I hope this was helpful to those who had no idea how to embed their screenshots before. And those who find themselves telling newcomers that their Map Threads are not up to standards without pics, send them this way. -by xX533ny70ddXx Or you can visit www.haloscreenshots.net and enter in your gamertag. They have all your recent screenshots. Copy and past the BB code, also known as the forgehub code and paste it into your thread. Thanks, I already knew how to embed pictures, I just did not realize it had to be done. That Halo 3 screenshot website is quite east to use, so I'll be refering to it often. Thank you everybody.
youre very welcome. the map looks quite fun for hectic team games, with builkdings and stuff towering overhead. but really 2 benefit u learn how 2 INTERLOCK. interlocking is very benefitial to most maps. Though it isn't everything. THe gameplay looks very fun and i will see how it plays laer 2 day. also try adding a weapon list 2 your post. it help the ppl recognise what power weapons u have and wat u can fix add and reorganize. second, your pics are fine, just gimme more if u can. if u dont want to or cant, add a description 2 each so i no wat im looking at. and MAKE SURE EACH TEAM HAS BALANCED WEAPONS! a plasma cannon 4 one team and a turret 4 the other= balanced. a sword 4 one team and a gravity hammer=slighty unbalanced. A shotgun 4 1 team and a mauler 4 the other= unbalanced. a pistol 4 1 team and a a kajillon rocket launchers 4 the other= superomegaomglolrofllmfaoepicwinsauceonoesoldpplbbqepicwinsauce unbalanced. lol just fix it up with the advice from us here at forgehub. welcome to the communtiy. and my comments might seem mean, but im tryin 2 help you and your map. I'm a professianal (lol no im not, but im damn well good) so trust me, and every other sensible forger around here, like lightsout225 and squidhands and all those other respected and moderator ppl. SO welcome. continue to post maps here. and 3.5/5 good start. Keep forgin! -Dylan
this map is pretty sloppy if you need help on things like geomerging and interlocking go to forging 101 on the home page also for the post a list of weapons and a description of the general layout would be nice
for a novice forger, quite good! but if you want people to notice your skills, you need to make is as smooth as possible, like those signs on the left side of your first pic, stand them straight. and also, the bottom of a doubloe box / single box looks better than the top of one, and is also more useful to forge with since there are small squares on theyre surface. Hoped this helped. -Lighcanrule123. and like what the others said, Interlocking is important. i am flawless at interlocking, but my geomerging needs work interlocking / geomerging can be learned in forging 101, and trust us all when we say interlocking is useful. my maps would be nothing without it Example: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/competitive-maps/60965-sewage-plant.html you can see all the interlocking i used in the few pics Interlocking- to take one object and merge it into another Geomerge- to place a object within the maps geometry
Thanks everyone. I suppose the general concensus is the map's a bit too sloppy, more descriptive posts, and learn interlocking. I'll be sure to do all of that. Thanks so much for all of your help!
