Here is my entrance for Forgotten Treasures Map Pack, a Prisoner remake which has had at least 50hrs of forging done on it. I've had the Mythic maps since Halo War's release day and have been working on it since. I know this is my first post, but I'm a lurker I won't lie. Once I saw the Forgotten Treasures competition I was compelled to enter my map. Feedback appreciated. Due to Budget issues it is currently only set up for Team Slayer, FFA and Ball (the best maps on Prisoner IMO) and I've used the MLG Power Up idea as I think the default OS is useless, as it's so weak. Now there's a reason to go up top and pick up the custom power up, as before with default OS everyone ignored it, naded down snipers and just whored rockets and Camo. This just made it frantic as majority of spawns (like in H1) are on the lower levels. Anyway, feedback appreciated as always. Weapons: Battle Rifles Carbines Rockets (bottom Mid) Snipers (1 in each corner tower / base) REMEMBER: Use a custom 2x OS!!!! man this is a pretty sexy prisoner remake :] lol no rly i do like the neatness of the remake but 2 things #1- I dont know the weapons (i dont own halo 2 but ive played it a lot.) so give like a weapon list or somethin. and #2- The link takes me 2 your file share U NEED @ MAKE IT @ THE MAP DETAILS! if u remove it from your file share, it will be almost impossible 2 find! o noes! do this and u get a cookie. Cool, I've downloaded Secure (the other remake) but your's seem better. I download to check it out. Btw, more pics and a list of weapon would be good. And you should recommend to use Custom as 2x Overshield.
Wow this looks awesome, as stated i have another remake but this one looks alot better (hope the author of Secure doesn't get mad) i'll be downloading this. Oh and i thought the original prisoner did have invis so why would he need to put a custom power up?
I dont play halo 2 much anymore but this map looks amazing and clean. Flawless interlocks win my dl because i dont remember much from halo 2
Your rocket spawn is broken. I fixed it. It was a pain trying to catch it out of the air where your map has it spawn. I like the remake though...having more control with block jumps instead of a ladder seems more fluid. I could send you the one with the fixed rocket spawn or you could probably fix it yourself quicker. For some reason once it made the rocket drop out of the map...not sure how it did that, but it could be a problem in gameplay, so it's worth fixing.
Because the Custom is for the OS not for the Camo. The Rocket is on a drop spawn to make it spawn similar to MLG so it works like a Halo 1 Spawn System. I plan to fix it tonight along with a few bumps and put the updated version in the Thread. Thanks for the feedback!
i was going to ask how you dealt with the issue of ladders, but from the other posts i'm understanding that you just have jump-up locations? it looks great, i was planning on creating a map modeled after prisoner, and it's good to see someone else playing around with the sandbox's potential for vertically oriented maps
I must say that this is the best Prisoner remake I've seen so far. However, you really shot yourself in the foot by using a clean canvas map and hitting the OLN. It might be worth your while (even though I know that you've been working on this for since Halo Wars came out) to redo it with a proper canvas that saves all the spawn points. Knowing what you did the first time around will make the second time much quicker, believe me. You may even end up realizing where you might save money on object usage. Either way, best of luck to you in the contest. and lol at "fixing" the drop-spawn rockets. lolololol
I did use a normal canvas map with as much of the original objects as possible, I just made the silly error of deleting the spawns. Basically, the original items refuse to geo-merge properly so even re-doing it prob won't save that much budget. I actually plan to re-do it at somepoint and make a more Halo 3 Themed version of it with Equipment and a different layout. Obviously with no fall damage or fall stun the playing style is totally different, hence why I plan to re-do it. Glad you all liked it!
I've looked at any way I can do budget changes but can't find any solutions. I plan to remake this map properly from scratch using a decent Canvas again after my exams. Has anyone made a way to fix the budget issues? Or have any more feedback?
I ran through it the other day and even though it feels a lot like Prisoner, it has a major problem. The walkways are extremely bumpy, especially where the wood bridges meet the walls. The aren't even on the same plane. I was walking forward at normal speed and the bump was so big that it sent me falling to the bottom of the map. Good job on rest of the map, but the walkways ruin it for me.
Prisoner is a map from the original Halo. Can't believe how many Halo 3 players haven't played the first one.. From the limited amount of screenshots, I can at least tell you're a capable forger. The top levels are looking good, still can't see the bottom much or the interior walkways, but from the post it looks pretty faithful to the original. I'm DLing for a good ol' rockets match on Prisoner. Good luck in the contest.
Played a little FFA on this map with some friends. Brought back some great memories. Fix a couple of the upper level bumps that knock you off when walking straight and the rocket spawn and this will be played several more times by my friends and I. Also the customer power up was not something we were a fan of. Just the plain old OS would have been fine.
