Well what happened was when I was sleeping yesterday the thunderstorm shorted the power. Well apparently it shorted my wireless receiver. So now I either go wired or pay 100$ to fix it. (my warranty ran out in November.)

My 360 had a good 2.5 year long run and I expected it to die with a RROD not the way I envisioned my first demise.

NOW here comes my issues for those of you that had RROD or have ever had this problem...

I've heard they give you a refurb console instead of your console back. Is this true? Because refurbs die QUICKLY. And my 360 had 2.5 freakin' years where else am I gonna get one so damn relieble? Refurbs die every month so I just want mine back. BTW I mean refurbs of RROD.

Second of all do you guys think I should Buy halo 2 for the pc? I want a nice replacement game and halo 2 seems fun and has great achievements. The only problem is, I can't return it. So for 30 dollars is it worth it???

If they can't fix the console, they give you a refurb. Its not that bad though, my friend got one and its been going strong for a year even after many falls and such, and like two days straight playing (don't ask).

Halo 2 for the pc isnt bad. I hear there's a map editor, and you can use your gamertag to play it and get achievements. If you're a bit short on cash, get Halo 1 for PC, there's plenty of mods and games still around to play.

I got my same one back. I recognized the scratches as soon as I took it out of its plastic bag. Plus I still had all my Dl'd content.

The content is on the hard drive anyways, and they let you keep that.

Scratches? Did they come from that knife of yours?

They don't give you a refurbished xbox if you get RROD... they give you a completely new one. That's why they tell you to keep your hard drive.

    Yes.

By wireless receiver I thought you meant the wireless receiver to get an internet connection. You need to be more specific.

Only 3 years for RROD and E47 (maybe some other number around 47?). Everything else is the same generic 1 year warranty unless you bought an extended warranty from a store.
