    Burial Base RvB

    This is a sequel map to my other which is called Arial Base RvB. Anyway, this is located in the crypt, perfectly symmetrical, made for CTF, and best played on 3v3 or 4v4 matches, any more is too hectic and any less will get boring fast. Consists of two bases which have 1 sniper rifle, 2 Br's, and 1 turret per base along with a mancannon to get to the second level, 2 tunnels with a shotgun and 2 spike grenades per tunnel, mini bases great for sniping accessable via teleporter, a bridge over the middle connecting the two mini bases that has a spartan lazer in the middle of it, a hill that blocks the vision of those on the ground floor of the enemy base but allowing those on the second story to see across, and contains a power drain on top of the hill which can be used to take out the turreter or thrown into the mancannon taking out the shields of all enemies hiding on the second floor of the base, and finally one smg in front of each base inbetween the the two torch like structures that cast the red or blue light on the base.     This is the Bridge and one of the Mini Bases that overlooks the map, perfect for sniping, you can also see one of the teleporters that lead up to the Mini Base, there is another teleporter on the other side not visible in this pic.

    the sniper position looks a little overpowering. if someone who could actually use a sniper was up there, well would most likely stop any team from coming through the middle until they ran out of ammo but other than that it looks alright. is there more than 1 way into the bases or just the front entrance.

    Yeah... I'm sorry to say that there is only one way into the base, I completely ran out of money and couldn't add any other entrances. That was one of the things my friend said, which was that the bases are too easy to defend, which is why I added the power drain which you can use to throw into the mancannon and give the attackers a chance. On the sniper base issue, it is actually pretty easy to attack, you could either snipe them out from your base, get into a teleporter and fight them in closer combat, or if you didn't want to deal with it like you said, just head on through the tunnels.

    Mmmm looks interesting but a little bare in the middle... sucks that you ran out of budget. Anyway looks like a cool map *downloads*. Keep up the great forging!

    This map looks pretty good and I'll probably download for my next LAN party. It reminds me of Battle Creek in a few ways. I love the way you made the entrance to the tunnels. I would have never thought of that!

    The map loks very cool. I've never seen a map like this on forgehub. I would suggest, if you make another version, that you include a back entrance to the bases, because if there's only one entrance, it usually creates a choke point. Also I would take out the sniper from each base, and just put one in the middle of the map. Other than that nice map. 4/5

    Looks very clean and well thought out. I love the middle with the ramps and bridge. And the Walls on the sides with a walkway up to the window look very creative. I'll Download. 4.9/5

    Okay, this map looks like it would be splendid for CTF and Assault gametypes. I really like the center area of the map and the bases look like it took some time and effort to make. However, interlocking the bases and such would make this a MILLION times better in my personal opinion. 4.5/5. I'll DL and post a more detailed review later.

    Again good map, fix the "one way into a base" issue 'n your map could be 5 star. The tunnels are still my favorite parts of the map.

    I like the feel of this map a lot. Simple design, but seemingly effective. I haven't had the opportunity to play this yet, but I plan to. Based on a forgethrough, I have some suggestions that may help you out a little. The first and most important thing is, add more spawn points. 10 is way too few. A tip from the Bungie designers that I took to heart was, "wherever you think about placing a spawn point, put two." 'nuff said.

    Another thing you might consider adding is the Assault gametype. Seems like it could work pretty well in all of it's default forms. I'm sure CTF is fun, but the two gametypes kind of work in tandem with one another. If you're setting up for one, might as well set up for the other.

    Lastly, on the issue of budget, there might be a way of getting enough money to make an additional way into the base. Getting rid of the interior Corner, Large blocks in the tunnel would free up about $20, and I believe you already had a little bit left anyway. I saw that there were small gaps in the tunnels when I deleted them, but it seems as if they could be retooled to minimize any grenade losses and look a little tighter. There's also some hidden money in some of the default items and weapons if you used them (I forgot to check), just lower their runtime max's to what's only on the map.

    Anyway, I'm going to try and get some CTF games on this over the weekend and come back with some actual gameplay feedback, as it's usually the most relevant for more people to enjoy what you've made.

    EDIT: I forgot to mention the lights. They're entirely too strong sitting on top of you stone platforms. I'd recommend merging them into the platforms enough to eliminate the source and just let the ambient light do what you wanted. I did that immediately when I was doing my forgethrough and it still did what you wanted it to.

    Well squidhands said pretty much everything that needed to be said. There definitly needs to be more than one entrance. I do really like the idea that you have in this map. The tunnels dont seem to be very overused like they are in so many maps lately. Also, when he said to add assault, he means add assault because this would be great for that and its one of my favorite games to play.

    One thing, IMO, 2 Shotguns can be a little too much. They at least need to have no spare clips. If one man gets both Shottys, he is very dangerous. He can basically stay in the tunnels and rape anyone who dares enter. I would suggest either trading them for Maulers or just having one nuetral Shotgun. This is just my opinion, you do what you want to do in your map. Once again, I like the looks of this map, so good job mate.

    Definitly take care of the spawns squidhands mentioned.

    This map looks great it looks clean,big and lots of fun.I love the tunnels and its kinda like griffball I hope your map gets featured.I want it to and I like it that u made a vid.Nice job!

    Looks pretty good, I really like the look of the bases, they got a cool asthetical feel to them. You might want to add at least more than one entrance so the people hiding up there can't just camp out at the top, but overall really good. I also like the idea of the tunnel entrances and the fact that you made a video, allows us to see more of the map. But good job, keep it up

    This map looks really good, seems to be well made and im guessing alot of thought went into this, but my only concern is the power weapons (laser, sniper, turret, and w/e others uve got).i mean the map isnt a huge map, but it is big, but i can imagine the power weapons completely taking over the main floor, especially if the people using them are camping up in the bases and with only 1 entrance it would be extremely hard to stop them? As a result it would force everyone else to use the tunnels... meaning the map wouldnt get full use?

    im not sure if this is the case, but i will download it and have a play about, and maybe come bk to edit. 4/5



    EDIT: ok so ive just played a few slayer and CTF games on ur map. i found the map almost perfect, i dont think that having just the one entrance to each base is really an issue as its only a short walk from the tunnels to the front of the base, and all the way along the front u can jump through the windows, so its is easy enough to get inside, as long as u can get to the front in the first place. The tunnels are excellent, and i love the ramps up to the centre and the bridge going across the top ( which btw isnt straight and some blocks stick out further than others- might wanna fix that ). the grav lifts taking u up the levels work really well, and i like that u can shoot out from inside the base.

    However, as i said above, i did find the power weapons (laser, snipers and turrets) to be really overpowering. I rarely made it over the ramps before being sniped in the face, mowed down by a turret or fried by a laser blast.

    So IMO to improve this map you should:
    1) Reduce the ammount of power weapons, maybe just 1 neutral sniper under the laser? keep the laser as it takes time to charge, which in this smallish area is fairly easy to counter.. and the turrets im not to sure, because if working as a team they can be taken down easily enough with a few grenades or something.
    2) flatten and line the bridge up so nothing sticks out.
    3) possibly add an alternate entrance to the bases (although i dont think its matters too much, but for other peoples sake lol)

    This does look good. I like the style of it - it reminds me of something that would work well in Halo CE.

    Thx for the comments, I am gonna work on a v2 based on the suggestions you made. In the v2 there will be:
    -different weapon placement, mainly concerning the power weapons and amount of ammo in them.
    -smoother bridge, as you can climb up the stone platform, jump on a tiny exposed ledge and then jump up to the bridge without ever having to go through the teleporter
    -possibly add a little more cover in the mid section
    -possibly add another entrance(s) to the base but could prove difficult since I'm out of money and objects, so I might have to change other aspects of the map.


    Let me know what you guys think on these changes and please give me any more suggestions in order to make it as perfect as possible. Thx again for the comments and you're help.

    The Sniper is a bit of an overpowered area, also the turret.
    if theres only one way into the other base then it'd be almost impossible to get through.
    Scenery is great though the map looks very smooth balanced
    I give it a 3 out of 5
    just make more ways through each base and your good to go
