An asymmetrical 2v2 based map inspired by "Landing pad" and "Lockout." Size : Small **MUST RATE AFTER PLAYING** After enjoying Lockout's "feeling" after a couple of years of playing Halo 2, and seeing Valaruss's small asymmetrical map Landing Pad, my mind exploded with ideas for making a map of the sort, or at least, in my mind they seem like similar maps. Took six hours to complete. Gametypes: Slayer, CTF, Oddball, KOTH, and Infection. Equipment: Sniper x1 150sec Start yes Rocket x1 180sec Start yes Battle Rifle x2 30sec Start yes Carbine x2 60sec Start yes Bubble shield x1 120sec Start no Plasma grenade x6 [Depending spawn and start] Spike grenade x2 60sec Start no *Two fusion coils on the map at 120sec Start yes* Outside view Sky view Rocket side Entrance view Pathway side Sniper spawn "Outside to inside" view Sniper room "Snipe Ramp" from "Lobby" "Lobby" "Lobby ramp" to "Bubble hall" "Bubble hall" "Shortcut"(Wooden bridge) Rocket spawn Right of Rockets "Jumpable" gap between Rocket spawn and to the right of it. Rockets I know it's a little strange to have Rockets and sniper in such a small map, but i'm sure it works well enough. Faults: 1 The one fault in this map is that it's not impossible to get on the roof. Two or more people could stack up or double jump, but i'm hardly concerned about that. Also host can use the fusion coils to blast themselves up to the roof. One thing that i'm satisfied about this map is that there is no way to grenade jump anywhere you are not supposed to be, (Unless you happen to be a Trick jumping pro.) Concerns: 1 I know that some will complain about these ledges I placed. But... Those who have an issue with it or are just curious, I did NOT intend to make these ledges sneaky or significant, but be aware, I also didn't make them hoping people wouldn't find out about them and think that they're "Breaking" my map. They're just, sort of... There. Special thanks to: rooptedoop and xIDeCePTiioNzZ for helping me test out the gametypes. Download Clearance And remember, pictures may tell a thousand words, but playing the actual map tells over 9,000!
This looks really nice. I like the enclosed, complex layout you have going on here, and I definitely see the Landing Pad influence. The issues you listed shouldn't be an issue with mature players (though thats sometimes hard to come by these days), and I respect the fact that you laid them right out in the open for everyone to see. Hopefully that'll avoid some pointless comments that would otherwise be inevitable. I'm definitely going to DL this and take a closer look. Cheers.
Thanks, my recent maps haven't been appreciated so much and it's good to hear someone who makes sense of things. Thanks again.
No problem. Though I will say that your signature is 43 pixels too tall. You may want to change that before RunningChron eats your first born child =P Im turning on the HaloBox right now so hopefully Ill be back with more comments in not too terribly long
Agreed, haha, this map gives off a feeling that I haven't seen sandbox give off yet (IF that makes any sense at all) First off, most sandbox maps are an open air fight. This one has a combo of both. Leaving the ceiling open for a less claustrophobic but still enclosed aura. I like it, especially the ledge you've shown, reminds me of Boarding Action, where you would grab the sniper then go back and hope on top of that ledge right around the corner and start sniping hah. The supporting pillars you've placed around the map gives it another aesthetic plus too
Great job Remy. Looked great when you and I flew around it in Forge last night, and I can't wait to get some gameplay in on it.
This map looks really cool.. The first pic I was the wtf this thing is tiny! but then I was all like zomg haxorz lol... It looks complicated but enclosed at the same time which is new and looks like fun =) Great map
good map bro. I like this one immensely, And I think that the 2 maps that you have posted so far that i've seen are both very good, and I look forward to seeing more from you. 5/5.
