Ivory Tower elevator

    I was thinking about making a remake of ivory tower, but the only part of the map that i don't think i could get really stuck with is the Elevator at the back near the sword spawn.

    Any one have any ideas?

    You could try something elaborate with switches, but I think a simple grav lift system would be more elegant. Maybe a grav lift each on the bottom and middle levels that go up to the next section - done that way they'd have to be slightly offline so that you could go up to the 2nd level without automatically shooting up to the third.

    Could you explain to me what the original lift was like, I never played Halo 2. Was it like a switch where you held RB and it made you go up or something?

    No, it's a three story elevator that automatically goes up periodically, and there's always a platform at all three levels. You stand on the platform at the bottom and after a second or two it moves up to the 2nd level. If you stay on it, a couple seconds later it moves up to the third level.

    I wouldnt even attempt making the lift, it would be to hard, probally impossible. Well probally possible but to use in gameplay, imposible. Id make the map with you tough..

    Ugh, sounds like that would incredibly hard to recreate. Maybe you should just put like three separate elevators, one going from floor 1-2, another from 2-3. Hope your remake works out. =)

    If your remaking it on Sandbox you can use the damedged columns as a elevator. They could use a grav lift to activate the lift and you would have to make a track for it so it doesnt go up to far. Best of luck

    if its on sand box id do this:

    spawn a small block or something small that can be lifted by a grav lift, set the lift to spawn at like 10 seconds and make the object respawn every oh idk 10 or 30/ or make bloc that spawns every 10 15 30 ect. that way it goes up then respawns. make a track using the big columns on either side. and put a weapon holder that spawns at 10 at the 2nd lvl but idk how to make it go away thats the only problem.

    I will attempt to make one but it is pretty impossible to make it as fast the real lift on the map.

    Perhaps make a shaft with a grav lift underneath and a pallet or tiny block spawning above. Use a weapon holder to stop the pallet where you want it to, and set the pallet respawn rate to 10 seconds.

    This probably wouldn't work, but the idea is this:

    The pallet spawns, moves up the shaft, and stops at the weapon holder. A few seconds later, it respawns back at the bottom.

    You would probably have to set the grav lift quite far into the ground so that the player would have time to respond to the respawning of the pallet. Plus you would need two seperate lifts. I'll try to think of a way that only uses one, but I don't see it happening.

    EDIT: damn, beaten to it.

    lol yea was going to say i proposed that but like u said u need 2 lifts or figure out how to make the weapon holder go away to the lift can continue up.

    you could use a system where you have a grav lift at the bottome of the shaft that has a 20 respawn rate use a man cannon to fire a fussion coil at the grav lift every 30 seconds then have ot you elevator will jam ever so slightly on the next level up ( by having the shaft narrow ever so slightly) and and have a grav lift/fussion coil system there with double the respawn rates this way the lift would go up to the second level then be shot up to the 3rd then it would fall back down again to be shot up by the first grav lift, it would be a continuous cycle that would keep your elevator moving up and down, i hooe you understood that :p

    I've been thinking about this since everyone replied.
    I believe the most budget friendly way would be to split the lift in half. Rather than it being in the centre, the ground to first could be on the right, and the first to second could be on the left.

    yup that would work perfectly, but for even more budget friendly just use a grav lift and a angled block at the top of it so you go up and it pushes you to the left then for the 3rd story to the right.

    you could put a first grav lift on the left side and the second on the right side like this.
    .......

    ^.....
    the periods are floors and the other things are lifts. It wont be exact but it should work. Or a spiral stair case would be cool.
    EDIT: i didnt take the guy aboves idea sorry i didnt see it.
