What are some of the trends on sandbox that are already getting old when you see them? I need to rant about a few. Mine have to be.. 1) Kill Balls Kill balls are ugly, bright, loud balls that just look bad on a map. I hate seeing them placed on a map because it ruins the gameplay for me. I can't stand looking at those ugly things. And stop using juicy with them. We all know it makes the core turn pink. Whoop-de-do. 2) Red / Blue lights The lights are a great implement into Halo 3 forging but people seem to be using them wrong. The balls work great if you life them high above your map so it gives an overlay effect but people seem to just stick em right onto the surface. This creates another bright light that's hard to look at. It also over-saturates the surface and makes the map look bad. 3) Pipes The pipe are cool but they aren't the only object on Sandbox. Seems like every single map has to have some sort of little pipe tunnel. Some maps are just pipe and that's it. I know people have more creativity than that. This is just a general rant. I know you guys at Forgehub make way better quality maps than regular Bungie kids. Thanks for reading.
4) Sky bubble maps with no way around but single wall walkways... that have bumps cause of the wall glitch. 5) Crypt and middle layer maps built out of only two bases facing each other and some cover in between... no actual structures besides the bases. 6) I just wanna say tubes again. Worst. Choke point. Ever.
10) Poor aircraft placement If I see more than 1 banshee or several aircraft parked next to each other in the screenshots I stop reading. Yes, you can place as many air vehicles as you can mongooses but that doesn't mean you have to.
2) Is so right. Keep the lights in the air and away from my eyes! 11) The fact that there are few competitive sky bubble maps with open areas and even fewer feature warthogs. (The skybubble can handle Warthog's dammit, and even guardian has more open areas then I've seen in skybubble maps).
I had one almost ready to go... But then I suspect I deleted it while cleaning house to get under content limit, or it deleted itself as maps sometimes do. I'm rebuilding it better than before, but the inspiration just isn't there to do it quickly. 12) Not moving all the spawn and starting points from the OLN canvas, so people spawn outside the map.
warthogs dont belong on a floating map, nor do any vehcles except flying ones in most cases. have you ever seen a vehicle on a bungie made floating map? it doesnt work well. unless its a race map. or a mini game.
Doesn't have to be a floating map with catwalks and platforms and stuff like Guardian or Blackout. You can legitimately do a map in the sky bubble long enough and wide enough for vehicles and make it work.
you can, but its not practical. you would waste a lot of budget and items on a floor that isnt completely smooth. the ground level is much more practical for a competitive vehicle map. even the crypt would work better in most cases.
