"The method of executing may have changed, but the purpose of this ancient forerunner prison remains the same." === Players === 2-4 About the map: It's been 8 months since my last map, and thanks to Sandbox Final Defense was not my swan song. The Brig II is the sequel to my first ever forge map I created back in October 2007 (a.k.a the pre-foundry days). For those who may have never played The Brig, the map was actually located inside the giant forerunner ruin in Sandtrap with all 6 entryways blocked off. While getting out was pretty hard it wasn't impossible, and determined players found ways to get out. I told myself if there was ever a future forge map that would give me the capabilities of recreating The Brig from the ground up I would, and that map has finally arrived. However as I was making the map, I decided not only would I create the basic layout, but expand upon it and give this map justice. In the end it became more of a sequel than an actual remake. This map like it's predecessor is intended for 2-4 players and was built around 1v1, 2v2, and 3-4 player FFA. Anymore players and the map becomes too crowded (hell even 4 players might be crowded for some). While the map itself was designed to be a basic slayer map, it was also built to support King of the Hill and Oddball matches, both of which are pretty damn fun here. The map does support all game types, but because of the map's size most of these variants are not that enjoyable. Keep that in mind when you're firing up a zombie game with 16 players. Finally I can't help but look at how beautiful this map turned out. While game play is the most important thing to me when creating a map, I also made sure that the map looks attractive to the eye, and I believe that goal was accomplished. A lot of people throughout the testing process told me it reminded them of a Halo 1 map, and to me that's an honor considering Halo 1 is still my favorite Halo game out of the three. === Pictures === An overview of the map (roof removed) with names of the areas your spartan/elite will fight in (yes I sphuellud entrance wrong). Center looking towards Shrine. This small room is called entrance for a good reason. If any of you ever played Oblivion, you'll know how this hall got it's name (or you can just call it red). Blue hallway. Another look at center. The signature barricade from the first brig makes it return. Shrine. === Action Shots === === Recommended Gametypes === - Slayer (2-4 players) - 2v2 Slayer - King of the Hill (FFA and 2v2) - Oddball (FFA and 2v2) - MLG Team Slayer === Weapon Set === The Brig II is designed for close to mid range fighting. The weapon set here supports mid range rifles and dual wieldables. You guys are awesome and your support helped put this map out without any delay. For all those who are getting the Mythic Map pack here in a few hours, I hope you enjoy my latest creation. -- Tim
This map looks awsome. I'm not sure if you're going for a jail theme, but if you take scafolding and merge a few of them in a line, it creates a very nice jail cell. The merging in this map is well done and I like the overall design of it. 5/5
yeah this map looks really nice. you have done a great job with using sandbox's items and the crypt. overall this map is very well constructed, with nice interlocking and layout. this is also a very astheticaly pleasing map, it again looks nice because of the interlocking and different use of the items. overall 4.5/5
I was thinking about doing that, but it seemed out of place and it would consumed resources that I actually needed to finish the map (I believe I'm 1 item away from reaching the item limit). I do appreciate the feedback though and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Very amazing. What I like most about this map is the outstanding variation of levels. This is the kind of map I'd enjoy.
This looks pretty cool, i like the purple room entrance..or at least I think thats what it is. This reminds me of chill out from halo 1...I hate cold storage in halo 3.
You know now that I think about it, it does have that chill out feeling. Maybe because of the purple, there really isn't a set up spot like most maps in Halo 2 and 3, and the fact that both maps are small.
I remember testing this, its AWESOME! The only thing I have to say is it's a little open in the middle. Nice map, though!
Aiiiiiiigghhhttt. It looks really cool. It reminds me of campaign levels, and that's a real good thing. Especialy because the map is closed with walls and a roof, makes it look original. 4/5
